You're a constructer and you’ve specialised in the "bringing up" of skyscrapers. Due to your specialisation over the years you constantly get new orders for higher and higher skyscrapers all over the world. Within your responsibilities are the planning, the supply with construction materials and sometimes even the operation of the big machinery such as cranes, forklifts and trucks. In the beginning you are dealing with multistory town houses, but later on you find yourself in realizing magnificent buildings for the rich and famous. A level is considered to be solved, if, within the specified time, the received contracts and tasks have been fulfilled. But be careful, unpredictable events always affect the current happenings, such as:
- Work stoppages
- Weather conditions such as wind, ice and rain
- Technical defects
During the game the player receives more and more new tools, machines and experience points. In addition to the linear career mode, the level can be selected individually and high scores for this certain level can be stored, once you have accomplished all tasks. Thus, on the hunt for the high score, the game can be played with friends too.

I enjoy really good simulation games that challenges the brain. Unfortunately, this game is not one of them. At best, the graphics are good (thus the 10 points), but watching a skyscraper go up is uneventful, lackluster, and rather boring. The vehicles come in, then go out, come in, and so forth. Really? Do not waste your money on this game. I will be trading it in the first chance I get.
A great building simfaraany3k | Aug. 31, 2011 | See all faraany3k's reviews »
Skyscraper Simulator is a city-building sim but plays more like an objective based game with time based objectives. Instead of building large cities, game is focused on building towering skyscrapers. The more linear and streamlined approach makes it stand out for all the other sim games which encompass a rather huge city to build with tons of management. Skyscraper Simulator is a nice little diversion from the standard city building sims and if you haven't played any game from this genre, Skyscraper Simulator can be a nice introduction. There are some UI issues and information is not very well presented in most cases, but is serviceable. Seeing your large Sky Scrappers and managing them is a real treat visually. A great sim game that is more focused and a little shallow but nonetheless great fun.
Lots of funrascallion | May 16, 2011 | See all rascallion's reviews »
Skyscraper Simulator is, as it says in my review title, a lot of fun. You basically get requests from people to build skyscrapers, and, unlike in the other simulator games from this particular series, the tasks are quite arduous and challenging, which makes the game a lot more fun and less dull and repetitive. Although the gameplay idea sounds easy, when building a skyscraper you have to take into account the weather, the public and other things. All these factors make for a fun game that I come back to every now and again.
