Trainz Simulator - Aerotrain DLC
Requires the base game Trainz Simulator 12 installed to activate.
The GM Aerotrain addon pack takes you back to the streamline era when this stylish train toured the railroads of the USA as a proposed means to the future of passenger haulage.
By the 1950's, passenger revenues on America's railroads had long since passed their heyday. Automobiles were fast becoming an affordable option for the modern traveller, and flight was also steadily gaining in popularity. If railroad passenger services were to survive, operators realised they would need to change their thinking and somehow take a more cost effective approach.
Today both Aerotrain locomotives and some of the cars survive as inoperable exhibits. GM T1 is on display at the National Transportation Museum in Kirkwood, Missouri. GM T2 can be found at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, Wisconsin. A third locomotive was constructed for Rock Island's experimental Talgo 'Jet Rocket' train, though the locomotive and cars were not preserved. Gone but certainly not forgotten.

Trainz Simulator - Aerotrain DLC is ained at a particular niche. It's meant for train afficionados, because hardly anyone else will appreciate all the effort put into making the simulation as faithful and accurate as it is. The Trainz Simulator is one of the best in its genre, if not the best. It is very good at representing actual trains, tracks, and even many historical ones. This expansion adds the Aerotrain, famous engine of the past, to the game. It may be the only game offering you a chance to drive this train, or simply I haven't found any alternative to it. So if you cannot drive a real Aerotrain, maybe the virtual version will do?

Although this is a pretty small DLC, it brought me my favourite train, so I'm glad that I bought it. If you also have a thing for 1950's USA trains then do not hesitate. I'm a proud owner of many other DLCs for this game but so far this is my favourite one. The Trainz Simulator just got better again, who would have thought that it's even possible.
