A picture pack for lovers of beardsLegolas_Katarn | Oct. 10, 2015 | See all Legolas_Katarn's reviews »
A pack to buy if you want to see more varied Norse characters. Adding many nice beards to the mix and varied portraits for the male characters. On the female side, some of the new female portraits are the same face just with different hair. This add nothing to the gameplay and is just for the visuals and your immersion. Kind of pricey at $2, better to buy them when they are on sale, a pack containing all of them would be nice for those interested. If you are only interested in content adding more gameplay elements, or your games don't often take you to the parts of the world that a portrait back focuses on then you will want to save your money for something else.

Everyone loves vikings, but no one likes looking too generic. To look more nordic, get this DLC. It is only a visual DLC, adds nothing to gameplay, but if you play with Nordic nations a lot then this DLC will improve your experience I think.

This latest set of portraits for the Scandinavian peoples does show some clear improvements over the Russian and Mediterranean portraits - females look a bit more feminine, and there is a greater variety among the faces. As always, clothing looks very nice and detailed. It's also nice that the code differentiates between pagan and Christians for hairstyles. My general complaints would be that some of the faces (particularly that of the males) look a little bit off-color, perhaps a little too purple or blue. Ultimately despite the improvements it doesn't compare to the original Western/Muslim and DLC Mongol portraits. Nevertheless, it is one of the better portrait sets, and worth the money particularly if it's on a sale.

If you want some customization on Crusader Kings 2, just buy this little DLC. It adds a lot of portraits for different countries, so it gives the game a little bit of variety. The price is low, so think about it.
