The Indus River valley was home to the early Harappan civilization while the Yellow River valley in China saw the rise of the earliest Chinese dynasties. Both these regions are included on the same map.
The Cradle of Civilization map packs are Firaxis-designed maps of real-world locations. You can play random leaders in these settings, or choose leaders appropriate to the history of these areas. The maps can also be opened up in World Builder, where you can even create specific scenarios.

This pack adds a real world map area of Asia to the game, however it does not add scenarios or much of anything else. This is a nice pack if you really want the Asia area to act out history in the game or something like that (which can be fun), but other than that the pack is useless. I used it act out history from the Asian continent in ancient wars with a friend of mine for YouTube videos and it made a pretty interesting YouTube series (idea for anyone else). I got pretty much every pack you can buy for this game because that series became pretty popular. So as you can see the pack is really just good for a fun interpretation like that. The best part about this pack is that it is not over priced. If you want it, there is nothing bad in it and you get exactly what the pack states, but it does not really add much of an element to the game itself. Because it is generally worthless other than aesthetics I will only give it a 70, but it works fine for what it says it does.

This DLC adds Asia, and it is awesome! I bought it with scepticism and then discovered it was a pretty good add-on to the already good Civilization 5. Being able to create specific scenarios and use asian leaders with this map was very fun.

If you have finished the base campaign of Civilization 5 and are looking for something a little different and new, Cradle of Civilization: Asia is a good place to start, as it is nice and cheap while adding some great new content to the base game, so you have more stuff to play through if you're bored of the main game.
