Description

The Sendai Faction Pack adds a new playable faction to Total War: SHOGUN 2 - Fall of the Samurai for use in single or multiplayer Campaign modes and Custom and Multiplayer Battles.

Fiercely loyal to the incumbent Tokugawa Shogunate, the noble people of Sendai endured the ages of turmoil to emerge as respected tacticians and sublime diplomats.

The history of the Sendai:

The Negotiators

Date Yoshikuni, the lord of Sendai, is loyal to the Shogunate. His family have been loyal to the Tokugawa clan since the end of the wars of the Sengoku Jidai. Then, Date Masamune had proven himself worthy, and established the domain with the blessing of the first Shogun. Even before then, the Date had been a noble and notable family of samurai, beginning as the Isa clan under the Minamoto. Given control of the Date province, and taking the name as their own, they survived centuries of turmoil. They have done this by political guile, implacable enemies, and fierce warriors. Now, as lords of Sendai, they are still all of those, even after centuries of relative peace. In battle, Sendai armies have longer when attacking, and need to defend for less time, making victory less of a race to achieve. The Date clan also have a bonus to all diplomatic efforts, and are tolerant towards people with different allegiance.

Faction Traits:

  • Tolerance (+3 reduction to unhappiness from differences in allegiance)
  • Siegecraft (2 turn reduction to surrender time when besieging castles)
  • Tact (+10 to diplomatic relations)
  • Respect (+1 reduction to resistance to occupation across all provinces)

The Negotiators pack

The Sendai Faction Pack features the Sendai - the negotiators as a playable faction. This pack adds new units and pretty neat clan traits for the Sendai, who are known for being a very diplomatic clan.

Their traits offer reduction to resistance to occupation across all provinces, better diplomatic relations with other factions, reduced surrender time when besieging castles and reduced unhappiness from differences in allegiance.

They support the Shogunate and they control the Date province. Like Date from Shogun 2 Grand Campaign, Sendai too are a strong samurai faction and they would die for their Shogun.

Currently standing at the price of 2.99$, this DLC pack is definetly worth buying. Playing as Sendai was really fun and exciting.

A good faction!

The Sendai faction adds, like the other three faction packs, a new faction with new units, and new traits. But this faction pack has, in my opinion, the best traits of the 4 faction packs. The traits are less unhappiness (more happiness), 2 turns less for an enemy to surrender when a castle is besieged, increased diplomatic relations and a higher respect (less chance that occupied cities will riot).

A good faction pack, but like the other 3 packs, it's not really worth 5$, and I would wait for a sale and get it then.

Too expensive...

Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai - Sendai Faction DLC adds a new Faction to all modes in the expansion (they can not be used in the main game) including multiplayer, released similarly to Civ 5's DLC Civilizations. The Sendai have cool new traits and history, but it's just about that. 5 dollars for a Faction DLC and no missions? No thank you.
