X-Com Apocalypse is a Turn-Based Strategy Classic with the option for real time combat along side Fallout 2 and Fallout tactics from the 90s, your story takes place in a city called Mega-Primus and is invaded by aliens which you will be fight through the course of the game , you can buy guns and equipment from arms dealers but that's not the only way because you will be able to craft some of these on your own later in the game. the Visuals aren't much of eye candy as it looks depressing and creepy , maybe that was the purpose but you will get used to it and forget about it when you spend your first 100+ minutes of gameplay since it's quite fun experience , environments can be destructible and cause enemies to die from destruction events like collapsing roofs and walls when you're fighting indoors , though you need to be careful not to damage your merchant's shops as they're gonna seek payback if you've no intentions of paying him back with cash, combat overall is easier than previous games as in your unit can do so man in a single turn , rendering the combat easy and making you think less about how to approach it, on the other hand , the addition of real time changes this , as you'll feel a difficulty spike arise during combat and that's why i ended up continuing the game in RT. aliens are interesting and you will encounter different species every few levels that you need to learn their strategies and change yours in accordance with, with the ability to go prone for the first time it's more varied combat this time around. if you're a fan of turn based game i suggest that you pass because it's quite weak in that area , but if you just want a good real time strategy game and interesting story line ,this is the game for you.
