XIII Century: Death or Glory is an RTS game which immerses players in the Middle Ages. This is a world of noble knights and ruthless nomads, a world of courageous deeds and internal wars.
As one of the famous military leaders of the 13th Century, gamers are able to test their steel against the neighboring nations and carve their names into history. Among the playable factions are the English, the French, the Mongols, the Germans and Kievan Rus' (Russians). The game consists of 5 campaigns which cover the most well-known battles of that period.
XIII Century: Death or Glory features large-scale battles, with thousands of units located on a battlefield at the same time, and offers players a chance to test their skills as military leaders in medieval Europe.
XIII Century: Death or Glory thoroughly reconstructs not only units and their behavior during a fight, but such important features as setting and landscape of a battlefield.

This RTS is not builded to the usual RTS tradition. In XIII Century you can build buildings nor units, what you've got is what you've use it. All mission starts with an army and with specific commands you've defeat the enemy. It's very hard, you must careful not to destroy to much from your army, because if you loose a certain number your whole army surrenders! There's many historical battles with info, if you like history. The graphics are very good, even if you zoom in the units. I recomend this game only for hardcore RTS players, who has a good tactic an patient.

Although I'm usually not a fan of RTS games, I gave this one a try because I love Medieval/Renaissance games (such as Assassin's Creed). This game surprised me with 5 different campaigns for French, Rus, Mongolians, English, and Germans, a massive scale, large armies, and simple controls. This may not be the most innovative or original game that I have seen or played, but XIII Century Death or Glory ended up being a lot of fun and I enjoyed my time playing through it.
