With the father of the cinematic zombie, George A Romero having passed away over the past weekend, we’re offering cooperative zombie survival classic Killing Floor 2 at a special price in our Summer Sale warm up flash deal.
To help you get started with the game we’ve put together a few tips to make your team more effective in the face of Horzine Biotech’s failed experiments. Don’t expect to just wade into the slaughter without preparation!
Together We Stand
Critical to your survival, particularly in later levels will be your ability to work effectively with your team. Communication is a must, as is ensuring that every angle is covered. The Zeds get smarter over time and they will find a way to take you down if you’re not constantly covering every angle. Vigilance is vital, keep your comms channels disciplined and your eyes open. If you think you’re going to win this fight on your own, you won’t.
Protect The Light
Your area-effect weapons can have an unerring knack of taking out the lights in an area – use those frag grenades wisely. Being able to sight-in to nail headshots becomes increasingly important as difficulty ramps up, and you’ll have a far tougher time pulling it off in the dark. Keep your flashlight lit at all times! You might not need it at a given moment but since everyone’s light is visible to the rest of the team you might just be helping your Medic stay in one piece.
Everyone Can Heal
It is well worth the investment to make sure everyone on the team has some healing ability. If your Medical Syringe is still recharging having an HMTech-101 pistol on you means that the heals can continue to flow. Relying on one member of the team to act as healer for the entire group is putting all your eggs in one basket. A dedicated Medic is a great thing to bring to the party, but share the load – you’ll need all the heals you can get. As a side benefit, healing will earn you extra dosh so what’s not to like?
Share To Win
In the same way that having multiple team members on healing duty can help the team survive, it is well worth taking a similar principle with your finances. Make sure that everyone on the team has the weapons they need to get the job done. There’s nothing worse than being a few bucks short of the next upgrade only to get taken down and losing most of the cash they had. You can throw leftover funds on the floor once you’ve made your purchases to help your friends become just that bit more badass – since they’re watching your back, you’ll want the most badass friends you can afford.
Buying Time
Delaying killing the last zed in a level will buy your team more time to find the trader and stock up on essentials. If you’ve fully cleared the level the clock starts ticking before the next zed incursion comes your way, so keep one alive to gain a little more vital browsing time.
