Twitter! Land of character limits, land of bants, land of harassment.
But now it’s also the land of excitement about E3, the land of getting hype. We put the question to our Twitter followers in the form of a poll and asked which of these four ‘absolutely definitely 100% going to be announced at E3 2017 things’ they were most excited about.
What are the four options? Well wait no longer, I’ll tell you. Here’s our four top predictions for E3 2017:
Half Life 3
This is going to be the year, finally, after all the time waiting. We’re finally going to get Half Life 3. It’s going to happen, surely Gaben, surely you’ll shine your benevolent light upon us and let us glimpse the holy grail that is Half Life 3. Please Gabe. Please. Mr Newell. Please show us the game. A moment, a glimpse, a second, anything. Just a bit of Half Life 3.
That said, it might be rubbish because it’s been in development for at least a decade now and it’s still not come out yet, so if it is being made it’ll have gone back to the drawing board a few hundred times. Maybe it’ll appear and it’ll be a tower defence mobile game, but as long as it ends that bloody cliffhanger at the end of Episode 2, I’ll be fine with it.
So yes. It’s definitely going to happen. Surely. This year. At last.
Dreamcast 2
The Dreamcast was and is the best console known to humanity. Fact.
Since then, SEGA has moved into a software role, becoming one of the largest PC strategy game publishers, which is a phrase I thought I’d never be typing when I was playing Shining Force back in the early 90s on my Megadrive.
Isn’t it time we got a new console, and what better console to have a sequel to than the beautiful, the wonderful, Dreamcast. The Dreamcast 2! Coming to stores near you, definitely. We’re sure of it.
The Last Guardian 2
The impossible happened, The Last Guardian came out. So now it’s time for a sequel. We’re absolutely sure that Sony will announce The Last Guardian 2: Trico’s Adventures in Hawaii, or Trico Goes to Hollywood. Trico in Space? Maybe it won’t be out for a few. Decades. But it’ll be coming! We can’t wait to have emotions about big dog-cat-birds again.
We’re absolutely certain that this will be an announcement. Coming to you, in 2052.
Duke Nukem 5eva
Duke Nukem Forever is of course the greatest FPS ever made. A fifth game in the Duke Nukem series is bound to happen, especially now Duke Nukem Forever is rightfully renowned throughout the gaming world as the finest example of first person shooting that has ever existed.
What will Duke get up to next? Will he ever find the ‘babes’? How many 80s films can he riff off? All this will definitely be announced in E3 2017.

That’s right, it’s Half Life 3! We can’t wait for all of these things to be announced this year at E3, but definitely we’ll be waiting with baited breath for the absolute, 100% happening, definitely going to happen, Half Life 3 announcement.
