What is the COD Warzone Plunder Game mode?

Call of Duty Warzone has been a hit since it’s release, the battle royale mode has been drawing in players in droves. But there is a lesser talked about mode that’s also free to play and can be equally as fun, Plunder.

What is Plunder

Plunder is one the Call of Duty warzone game modes you can play for free. Whilst Plunder takes place on the same map as the battle royale mode, it differs in that it’s not a fight to be the last one standing. It’s a fight to have the most cash. A match starts in the same way with you dropping into Verdansk from the plane. However, there is no circle closing in on you during the match meaning you have the freedom to roam anywhere. Plunder also has no Gulag, instead you just respawn after a period of time. Your goal is simply to gain as much cash as possible quicker than anyone else.

Making Money

In the COD Warzone Plunder game mode you’re going to want to try and make as much money as possible and there are a number of different ways in which you can do this.

The first and most obvious one is taking down enemy players. Once taken down they will drop a percentage of their cash on the ground for you to grab. There are also loose cash bundles lying around the map.

Completing contracts is another good way to earn some cash. There are various different contracts you can pick up and they’re easily spotted as floating tablet looking screens with golden yellow highlights around them.

Additionally, planes will periodically fly over the map and drop cash for you to grab. Listen out of the audio and check your map for where they’re dropping.

If you want something a little more challenging, but more rewarding you can try and take on the attack chopper. During the bonus round – triggered by a squad reaching 1 million in cash, you will begin to see black helicopters appearing. Should you engage with these heavily armed and armoured attack choppers you will be rewarded with a large amount of cash. High explosives are recommended to take down these beasts.

Secure The Cash

Once your squad reaches 300k total cash, deposit helipads will become active. You can use these helipads to secure your cash and keep it safe. There is no amount of the limit of cash you can deposit. You might want to wait it out and risk gathering more cash for less drops seeing as these helipads are likely to be hot zones with other players nearby.

Another option for depositing cash is to make use of the cash deposit balloon field upgrade.Either purchased through buy stations or found in supply boxes the balloon can be deployed anywhere on the map. But be warned, it can be destroyed as they float in the air.

There are lots of different ways for you to win in COD warzone Plunder that you’re easily able to play in a variety of ways to keep things fun. Whilst it is the less popular mode, it’s still a lot of fun and worth checking out.
