From the short time i've currently played this game it seems to work quite well and i am enjoying it. There are a few minor annoyances like the player can shoot the shotgun so fast it shoots even when crouched/taking cover (you'd have to see it to know exactly what i mean.) and also if i roll down the stairs, the physics dont match up in that you can see the players head and part of body roll Through the stairs. Apart from that, SO FAR, this seems to be a well built game that i would recommend. I see a lot of the reviews moan on about repetition and such...At the end of the day its the users choice. Some people would like a game like this and some would not. I will say repetition is present in that most of the time your just lowering bridges and killing enemies (from what i've played SO FAR that is).
This game feels a lot like a mix of Gears of war and Dead Space. You look a lot like Isaac Clarke and there are a lot of dark and creepy levels to traverse through. Alternately, the combat is more akin to the chest-high wall shooting of Gears of War. The thing it adds is surprisingly fluid and fun underwater levels and combat. If you're a fan of the games I mentioned, it's a great time.
