Enjoy a ride on the coast, with a gorgeous sunset in your passenger window, overlooking an ocean the ripples waves onto the beach. Humor as the rain comes in and the people begin breaking apart with hands over their heads... then start running them over because you just don't give a .... . Yup, another day and beautiful San Andreas. In my low-rider.
I was the kind of guy who had those parents that wouldn't let me play a GTA game, and after I finally could, this: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, was my first and amazing experience with GTA games. I remember playing this game in my old and dusty PS2, and now I can get a better and smoother experience in my PC with this port, and even better, play with mods! I recommend play this with a controller now that the game feels better with one than the Keyboard and mouse. The game still looks great to me, the soundtrack in the radio is the best and brings back memories. I definitely recommend this gem.
San Andreas was a game I upgraded my PC in order to be able to play it and to be honest it was worth it. The game is absolutely huge, every GTA game was packed with things to do but in San Andreas, Rockstar took that extra mile to add even more. This time we get almost RPG experience where our protagonist is described by a bunch of statistics we can adjust by performing certain activities. Graphics may be dated but the game is still amazing, fun fact, it has been released on mobiles so you can play in even while waiting for a bus. Masterpiece.
Ok first off, this is one the best GTA games because it is the longest GTA with over 30 hours of storyline and you have 3 cities to explore unlike other GTA games where you're just stuck in one city and best of all there are RPG elements to it that give this game a big + from all the other GTA games. The cities you get to explore are Los Santos which is based on Los Angeles and does a really good job with detailing the area and putting the ghetto into it and makes you feel like you actually live in the hood. You have the countryside between Los Santos and San Fierro and feels like you live in California with its lush forests. San Fierro which is based on San Francisco also does a good job and feels like a believable Bay Area city, The dessert between San Fierro and Las Venturas feels like a realistic mojave desert and is perfect(especially if you're a fallout fan) to explore. Las Venturas is based on Las Vegas and does an amazing job with its neon lights and casinos to make it a realstic metropolis. The game mechanics in this game are very heavliy improved from Vice City because you can now see your target's health and driving feels more loose in SA. You have gang wars which are pretty fun and lets you recruit your own gang members and take over other hoods by playing a little survival mini game. The soundtrack is amazing in this game and is very believable and feels you are actually living in the 90's and is my second favorite soundtrack after Vice City. Oh and using the jetpack is so much fun. Now the flaws on this game is that even though GTA SA is challenging it is also has very tedious missions, especially missions that involve using an airplane. Those missions are terrible, not fun at all and have the worst controls that I have ever seen in a video game. The story is flawed in many ways too and there is some character flaws here and there but the story isn't bad at all and it's very deep. The characters are also memorable too and good voice acting from Samuel L. Jackson. Yes he plays the main antagonist which also gives this game another +. Like I said earlier, this game is challenging and tedious at times but it's very rewarding and that's what makes a good video game. This I would say would be my favorite GTA game after Vice City and this game was worth playing through till the end and is a masterpiece.
This is an older game, yet even today the graphics and music are pretty good and a nice story line to go with it. Word of warning though, this game does have mature themes like any Grand Theft Auto, but this is also the game that stirred up a little of controversy with Hot Coffee. Thankfully they have removed all of that from the game by now, so if you are curious about it then you are out of luck. If you are looking for a fun game for a low price to spend your free time then this is a very safe bet for investing your entertainment dollars into.
