The Hobbit is a classic Lego style game and if anyone like movie reconstructions in the world of the bricks I honestly recommend this part. Great humor and lots of goodies are definite pluses. The only downside for me is the lack of the last part of the Hobbit movie. Apart from that is as much as a great Lego game as you can expect.
Those of you who already played some LEGO games know that these games bring fantasy worlds to life and with the addition of open world in newer games it is almost perfect - if you don't mind things being made of LEGO bricks. Beside story missions you have access to a large enough open world which you can enjoy and explore (fast travelling is added as an option after a certain story mission). There are collectibles to find, many characters to unlock and studs to collect so you can buy those characters and use them. LEGO - The Hobbit will provide hours of gameplay, either if you play alone or wth a friend (local co-op!). Its open world is amazing and you can spend a lot of time just wandering around and exploring the world of Middle-earth. Story missions which are well done are following the scenes from the movies and are filled with nice humour and charm. Using a controller is highly recommended (in all LEGO games) but you won't have problems if you are using a keyboard. If you expect the whole trilogy - story missions only cover the first two movies. Disappointing as this may be you also need to know that beside the fact of you knowing that the story missions from the third movie aren't included, this game never feels incomplete nor it affects the open world in any way. Another thing to consider for those who only played older LEGO games - characters aren't mute and with that said humour is a bit different so to those who loved that in older LEGO games this might be an issue. If the fact that this game doesn't include the third movie is a deal-breaker to you - skip it. Otherwise, it is a great LEGO game and one of the best in my opinion. Great for kids!
Great game, great fun. It is a simple game made for kids but the fans of lego will love. The game is very faithful to the film, has a very good gameplay and will provide you lots of fun. The voice acting in the game for me was one of its strongest points because it is extremely good and well made. The graphics follow the same pattern of the other Lego games and the soundtrack is very similar to the movie "The Hobbit." The characters, as always are very entertaining and funny making the game better to play. I recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of Lego games and also for those who are fan of the movie.
