The first thing worth mentioning about Max Payne 3 is the amount of detail in the environments. I say this because so many have complained about the graphics in Max Payne 3. Yet every single location you play through looks so believable, no environment looks vacant of life or detail. Just as impressive is how varied these environments are. You will play through apartment buildings, a cemetery, a prison, and so on. Sure these kinds of environments are almost common place in most action games, but in Max Payne 3 they have a level of detail that is so impressive you can't help but appreciate them more. Gameplay wise, Max Payne 3 does not stray too far from the first two games in the series. As you take out enemies your bullet time meter fills up, once you have the amount you need you can trigger it to slow down time. Enemies, bullets, grenades, and other hazards are easier to avoid in bullet time, not to mention how impressive the feature still looks. Shoot dodge also returns, letting you dodge in any direction (left, right, forward, or backwards) in slow motion. This time around you do not even need to have any bullet time in your bullet time meter to use shoot dodge (although some will be consumed if you do use shoot dodge while having bullet time left). Max Payne 3 really is a great action game and a great game period. It is not perfect, but the good aspects without question outweigh the bad ones. Whether or not your a fan of the first two installments in the series, Max Payne 3 is definitely worth playing.
This is the third Max Payne game and I must say it's a blast. It's a great third-person FPS with cover elements. You're Max and you're hired as bodyguard by the rich Branco family. You fail and members of the family begin to die. The plot gets interesting and in the end you realized that it was all a frame and people are different from what they seem. The gameplay is simple enough : get cover and shoot. Use the time bullet when needed. This is the feature that can save you most of the time. There are twits in the plot that can surprise you. At times, the game becomes tedious because you seem too shoot the same UFA soldiers or gangsters. The Brazilian favelas are wonderfully depicted. The graphics is great and glasses break and wooden is splintered. Overall, it's a great action game.
One of the best recent third-person shooter. The game-play , bullet-time,pain-killers, kill cam all were awesome . And one of the best thing about is optimization for PC, I was amazed to see this game perform so well , It gave me constantly 40-50 fps on my old pc on high settings , while gta 4 still struggles to get playable framerates . While it has great game-play and all, the story although good, didn't felt like the old max paynes , I mean that the dark feel was gone, when max was all alone and felt helpless, while in this game few missions you get to team up with another guy, not bad but that's not max payne style. And the levels felt more linear than the older games. Another problem , others have been complaining about this game is the Rockstar Social Club which makes it unplayable for them, but I haven't faced a single problem till now, you just got to log in the RSC account for the first time, then just press two buttons during initialization , which isn't difficult or anything. I totally recommend this game to everyone. My rating 9/10.
Best Max Payne game to date. Great first person shooter. This is a must play for any avid gamer. Very challenging and rewarding.
The gritty, sarcastic wit narrative of the main character proves what a game for adults means. It is not the blood & guns it's the dark humor and cold view on reality of a devastated man. Single player mode is more than enough for this title. This game is like a very good movie. Holds in tension where you are executing the action scenes. Perfect for a friday evening with a glass of a good scotch.
