Game description

Excellent art and music and fun but easy gameplay for a low price

Pankapu is a Kickstarter funded action platformer about about a child being told a story and Pankapu, who you control in order fight the nightmares the child suffers from. The game features a very fitting and well composed soundtrack that was worked on by the composer of the music in Secret of Mana. Controls are responsive and work well and the UI is nice, with the fitting choice of a book being used for the game's menus. Gameplay can feel somewhat similar to Trine in that you can switch between forms, right now you can use a melee or ranged form with another one coming in the second episode. Unlike Trine you won't be playing in co-op or solving puzzles. You have a worldmap that you move around, similar to the older Mario games, and can find additional paths by going back to old levels when you have obtained new abilities. Combat is pretty easy and the platforming is never that difficult either, combined with the lack of puzzles and the great soundtrack and art this can be a good game to relax while playing or for those that want something easier to play. The low price, even with the second episode, makes it easy to recommend giving this game a look but it won't be something to get if you are looking for a challenge.
