I have been playing ESO for a few years not and a TES fan I couldn't wait for the Morrowind expansion. I grew up playing the original Morrowind and once I received it I created a new character and it felt as if I was a young buy again. The world looks very similar and the music is just insane. If you have played the original you will feel the nostalgia and you feel like that you boy/ girl playing that immense game. Eso at the moment is very polished and smooth, this is also felt when playing Morrowind. The game runs very well, the quests are great/ new and sometimes immense. I love every aspect of this game and even bought a house in Morrowind for my character to live in. One word..Love.
The morrowind expansion takes back to the island of vvardenfell 15 years after it was first introduced in the elder scrolls III: Morrowind. The Giant mushrooms in front of you serve as a reminder that this is a wilder and foreign place compared to the mostly fantasy landscapes found in much of the Tamrial mainland. It's different in some ways. The quests in morrowing are really well done, they really make you feel that what you do matters to the world making your actions and decisions more important in creating a sense of accomplishment. That's something that many singleplayer games are good at but it's really rare to find something like that in an MMO game. Another major edition is the mostly good warden, the first new class to be added since the game launched in 2014. A true hybrid class as the warden encourages you to use a mix of it's 3 distinguished skill lines, animal companion for summoning, green balance for healing and buffs and the defense focused winter's embrace. Morrowind also adds a new fresh arena style pvp mode called battlegrounds, although sometimes an unbalanced affair because of unbalanced teams. but battlegrounds is still a nice more focused change of pace from the large battlefields of cyrodiil. Morrowind It's a great expansion that really adds to the game so I recommend you to buy this game if you haven't because it has more than it ever had before.
If you are still stuck on what the Elder Scrolls Online was at launch, please reconsider! The questing is wonderful. The dungeons are designed beautifully and the upper level ones very challenging. The combat is SO good. It might feel a little slow at 1st when you only have a few abilities but once you unlock both skill bars and have a full set of skills to swap between, it is very fast paced. The battlegrounds pvp they added with this update is a ton of fun too. I played this game in beta and for a few months at launch and felt it just wasn't quite there. It's there now. If you want to explore Tamriel with a friend, now is a better time than ever to do so!
Morrowind, next to Skyrim, is regarded as best in the series, so Zenimax/Bethesda did the obvious move and made this expansion to get the newcomers and veterans back to the game because of nostalgia, and it works. The biggest gamechanger in this game is Warden - really fun class to play and for him alone this expansion is worth it. Other than that, there is nothing groundbreaking, maybe even slightly disappointing, since Morrowind is not recreated 1:1 but is much smaller. There is plenty of quality content and it can amount to 20 hours, which doesn't sound bad, but for MMO it might be not much. Overall, solid expansion and worth it. If the title alone sold you on this idea, you will not be disappointed if you will lower your expectations a little and won't expect 100% Morrowind out of it. Recommended.
