War for the Overworld is what Dungeon Keeper would be like if it was released today, or at least what it should be like. If you have ever played the Dungeon Keeper series, you have played War for the Overworld. Build a dungeon by digging out rooms. Create various structures within these rooms. Use these structures to summon minions to defend your dungeon from invading enemies, or attack their dungeon. And so on and so forth. It’s a formula that works. Of course, there are some differences, like having to balance minions with traps, and the minions are fairly different from what you are used to in Dungeon Keeper games, but everything you would want in a Dungeon Keeper game is here. War for the Overworld is the Dungeon Keeper game you have been waiting for since 1999. It’s about time you started being evil again.
War for the Overworld is a Dungeon's Keeper's clone, in which you need to manage your fortress by setting traps, powering up your base, command your minions. The game is very funny, supported by a very good graphics and an enjoyable ost. If you like Dungeon's Keeper, give it a try.
I'll start by saying this game is clearly supposed to be a sort of "follow up" for Dungeon Keeper though it isn't tied by name or exactly marketed as such. I think it's very clear to everyone that it is that. It will feel familiar to anyone who has played Dungeon Keeper or Dungeon Keeper 2. Even the narrator is that same voice actor from those games. The game still has some bugs and maybe some people who are hardcore fans of Dungeon Keeper will have some complaints because there are some new concepts that didn't exist before. I personally like the game, I like the engine. I'm happy with the soundtrack/sound effects in general. Despite some minor disappointments and bugs I've somewhat enjoyed the game so far. Now for the negative, first of all when the game launched it was extremely lacking, a lot of features missing, way too buggy, and glitchy, so it was a beta with a full 30$ price. It didn't break the game, but it was very annoying. But the game's potential is great, I'm hoping as more content is added and the game is fixed it will be an excellent game. So in General, the game was a bit lacking at launch, some things have been added since and that was great, but I would still like to see more. Like adding more info on the interface, tool tips, small things, as well as more maps (many more please, as this is the kind of game that needs them), improved frame rate, small things that add up. But I love the look of the game, and I'm happy with the potential. So the game is good right now, but it's not great, hopefully in the future it will improve. So, I like the game, it's worth a play, but maybe at 30$ people want a more polished product, so know that maybe it needs some time to reach it's full potential. And I'm really looking forward to it getting there.
