Rugby 18 is a sports game about rugby (don't mistake it with american football). This game has done some thing right and on the surface it looks decent. Teams are up to date and animations are really good with graphics overall being nice to look at. Tackling is done right, goal kicking is also fine, but what kills this game is bad execution on nearly every field. It feels almost like it lacks playtesting, because in that stage it could've got some of the much needed quality of life improvements. Like cutscenes being way too long and drawn out - if you've thought Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War orc monologs were bad, this game will make you go back to those 2 and apologize. Kicking takes too long. No passing, because most of the time supporters run directly behind you. The AI is pretty non-existent and won't pose you a threat most of the time. There is no proper tutorial to explain the game to you properly, so for the first few hours you try and figure out how to do what or even what are you actually doing. On the surface it is just stitched together enough to sell it, but it feels more like early access rather than full release. Thankfully, developers didn't drop support and are working on it and promise a huge patch soon, improving on the AI, controls and adding some stuff, so there is hope that this game will go from disaster to a pretty decent game, because there is a potential for it to be good. For now, you're better off just sitting it out and see where it goes.
