Star Ocean is a classic as far as jRPG genre goes. It goes hand in hand with Final Fantasy and Tales of series. It was incredible shame that the series got canned/put to rest for so many years and came back with meh at best another entry, because The Last Hope was a great game with great action-packed gameplay and not chaotic mess like Final Fantasy XIII, nice graphics and soundtrack. The only downfall of this remaster is the same as any other pc port from Japanese developers for PC (with some small exceptions, like superb port of Metal Gear Solid V), it was not long enough in the oven. It is perfectly playable, but only in 60fps, anything beyond that and the game speeds up to unplayable mess, so forcing vsync or locking your monitor to 60hz is strongly advised. Thankfully, it is not as bad as any other disastrous ports and this is the biggest issue that can easily be fixed. Other than that, the game aged pretty well, actually and if you didn't play it on x360 or ps3, now it's great time to play it. It will scratch your jRPG itch for sure. The story pacing might be uneven at times, but gameplay itself is good enough to make this 60+ hours adventure really enjoyable. Recommended.
