What it Entails:

Role responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day ownership of key performance marketing channels PPC, SEO, display and paid social.
  • Careful planning of performance marketing campaigns around key business events such as product releases and sale periods.
  • Alongside agency, set up and execution of PPC campaigns, including ad copy development, target-setting, optimisation and internal reporting.
  • Execution of paid social campaigns, from taking a brief, to setting target groups, writing ad copy, then reporting back to internal stakeholders.
  • Display advertising during key times of the year. Briefing the agency, setting KPI’s, developing creative (alongside design team) and reporting.
  • Search engine optimisation. Setting the tactics, guiding the internal tech and content teams on optimisation techniques, then maintaining ranking reports.
  • Setting budgets, fluctuating accordingly, alongside the changing needs of the business, to ensure cost-of-sale targets are met.
Skills:
  • A strong understanding and appreciation of digital marketing and a hunger to build even more experience in this field.
  • Exceptionally strong analytical skills and ability to interrogate data and present insights in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Strong excel skills enabling tight, robust, regular reporting.
  • Deep technical understanding of web analytics and digital tracking methodologies.

Experience:
    You should have:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in managing and optimising paid and owned media channels.
  • A proven track record in delivering essential retail-related KPIs such as traffic, new customer acquisition, revenue and margin.
  • A demonstrable focus on ROI, CPAs and/or COS (cost of sale) when managing paid media campaigns.
  • Experience managing external vendors/agencies.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience using web analytics tools to deliver business reporting.
  • Hands-on knowledge of tag management solutions such as Telium or GTM.
Extra Marks:
  • Experience working in at least one fast-paced online retail environment.
  • Working knowledge of SEO, conversion optimisation, UX and design are desirable.
  • Knowledge of, or experience working in, other areas of eCommerce e.g. User Experience, Operations, BI.
  • Experience working with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or similar is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Experience designing high-converting UX with proven track record of success.

Content Business Development Manager

Role overview

In the world of video games, content is King, and this role is all about securing games for both our Retail and Publishing businesses. As such, the Content Business Development Manager is a key role within Green Man Gaming.

Retail Acquisitions - The role is instrumental in driving financial growth and market share by adding new content to the Green Man Gaming store. By building new Publisher and Developer relationships, the Content Business Development Manager will identify business opportunities, negotiate terms and close the deal.

Publishing Acquisitions - Working alongside the Green Man Gaming Publishing team, the Content Business Development Manager will identify new IP across all platforms, with publishing potential. Key to success on this side of the business is an ability to identify opportunities in tomorrow’s market, not todays.

Stakeholders - The role reports in to the Managing Director, Publishing, but requires working alongside and providing feedback to a variety of internal teams including senior stakeholders such as The Chief Commercial Officer, Strategy and Marketing Officers and Publisher Relations Manager

The Ideal Candidate:

To succeed across both sides of the Green Man Gaming business, the Content Business Development Manager must have:

  • Extensive knowledge of the current global video game eco-system
  • Ability to spot commercial opportunities
  • Be able to short-cut negotiations through an extensive network of global video game industry contacts
  • Have recognisable gravitas within the industry
  • Be able to close the deal
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit with an eye for generating revenue

This role has a global reach and as such, there will be overseas travel. With this comes a requirement to adapt to local commercial norms. Other requirements of the role include:

  • A passion for video games across all platforms
  • A knowledge of e-Commerce and/online retail would be a distinct advantage
Essential duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prospect for potential new content owners, using research to identify decision makers within organisations.
  • Build relationships with prospective new publishing / development partners and ultimately convert these leads into new business agreements.
  • Cold call as appropriate to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Meet potential content owners by growing, maintaining, and nurturing a network of contacts.
  • Set up meetings between potential publishing partners decision makers and appropriate Green Man Gaming colleagues to help secure business.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Work with the Green Man Gaming team to plan your approach and develop collateral (including pitch proposals) that speak to the content owners needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Handle content owners’ reservations/objections by clarifying, working through differences and emphasising shared goals and objectives to achieve positive conclusions.
  • Attend relevant functions, events and conferences and provide feedback and information on business opportunities, market conditions and content owners trends.
  • Represent Green Man Gaming in a professional and positive manner at all times.

  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet Publisher and Developer needs.

Role overview

Software Engineers are key to building and maintaining the Green Man Gaming and Playfire experiences as well as delivering the scalability required by an aggressively growing business. We need more Software Engineers to help us manage the delivery of the team against these exciting platform requirements. This is a key and exciting role within the global Engineering team, responsible for the delivery of technology projects against key milestones. You’ll be working on maintaining the existing and developing new high-performance, high-availability backend (micro) services for handling transactions and other actions of our users and managing the flow of data between On-Line Transaction Processing layer and On-Line Analytical Processing Layer. You will also work on implementing various data mining and analysis algorithms prepared by Business Intelligence. 


Job Description:
  • Object-oriented and/or functional programming skills in at least one of: Python, Scala, Java or Go.
  • Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Integrating applications with Amazon Web Service (AWS).
  • Documentation of systems being developed and deployed
  • Maintaining security of the code through more specific tests 

  • Some understanding of application design-patterns, web services, etc.

  • Flexibility, lateral thinking and problem-solving skills are crucial

  • Database knowledge ideally relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, etc.) as well as NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.)

Nice to Have and/or Willing to Gain
