Game description

Age of Fear 2: The Chaos Lord is the sequel to the critically acclaimed fantasy turn-based strategy Age of Fear: The Undead King. The game features a novel battle system, two campaigns with solid fantasy stories, and flexible multi-player and skirmish modes.

The story takes place in an untamed fantasy land, where four forces: the Human Kingdom, the Greenskins' Horde, the Undead Legion, and the Chaos Demons, are fighting for domination and survival. If you are going to survive, you will need to conquer cities, destroy demonic invaders, and discover ancient secrets.

Be wary. You're about to encounter quick skirmishes, where your unit's cooperation is essential. You will visit distant lands, either as a twisted succubus or an evil orcish warlord, where you will conquer cities, destroy demonic invaders, and discover ancient secrets - at least, that’s what you will do if you can survive!

Key Features:

  • Multiplayer and skirmish modes! (Hot Seat vs. AI vs. Networked Players)
  • Two full campaigns with multiple branches: The Demon's Lover and The Horde!
  • Enhanced and non-cheating AI!
  • 91(!) units with over 100 unique skills, split into four distinctive armies (Human Kingdom, Undead Legion, Greenskins Horde and Chaos Demons)!
  • Over 40 unique battles and bonus content!
  • Age of Fear 2: The Chaos Lord is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux systems and your serial key is fully interchangeable between versions!

Old school game

This is an old school game; a throw-back to when preperation and strategy meant more than quick reflexes. You must choose carefully when and where to move units on the battlefield and try to keep them grouped together to be sucessful. The enemy AI is quick to pick off that lone wolf in your army marching ahead of the crowd. Graphicly this game is not going to blow you away, but its not supposed to. Its uses overhead 2D graphics system, which is pretty much the only downside to the game. There are two campains with a dozen or so missions each. The story is fairly long delivered via text between battles. Your units (if they survive battles) can gain experience and level up or upgrade. If they do die you can hire new units between battles. This type of game isnt for everyone but true strategy fans will certainly have plenty to sink their teeth into.

interesting idea, poor execution

This is not a terrible game, but the visuals aren't very good, and the story is very generic and very dry. Another reason why I don't like this game is because it is very expensive; it should probably cost about 4 bucks. I would certainly not recommend buying Age of Fear 2, but there are some upsides to this game. For one, the battles are very entertaining. Also, the general feel of the game is good, but still, it is very expensive and not worth it. I think this game is very dated.
