One of the best classic platform games you may find for PC: This remake of the epic masterpiece that was Castle of Illusion is totally worth it as a retro gamer and as a modern gamer. Castle of Illusion is not as magical as the original was, but it will give you some of the best standard platform gameplay for a PC game. Different levels featuring great art design, imaginative boss fights and collectibles to expand its short lifetime. This is just the perfect game if you want something solid, and if you are tired of huge open world games where you need to spend 50 hours each. Way better than others like Ducktales Remastered. As simple as good.
The remake of Mickey's Castle of Illusion is a fun and light-hearted remake of the classic 1990 2D platformer. The game follows the original pretty closely, and has been redone with terrific 2.5D settings and graphics, remastered sound and new 3 dimensional areas/hub world. The game plays very well, with a polished storybook feel complete with narrator. The game offers a challenge, but is accessible to almost anyone. Levels can be completed by simply making your way across the platforms and other traps, but also offers a lot of difficult items and diamonds to find to unlock various extra content. Casual gamers, completionists, or just fans of the original two decades ago will all enjoy this remastered version of a classic; a version that honestly raises the bar for all remakes of the great games of the past.
I never had the pleasure of playing the original version. However when I got this it did come with it. I came to find I liked this new remake much better, and my girlfriend being a disney freak I wanted her to join in...This is probably the first video game I played with her, and went through all the fun and frustration with her. It is a little on the short side but I figure you'd expect that from a game as old as this, But a cute story to enjoy. I'd pick this up, especially while it's on sale!
I watched a lot of trailerz on the net before I bought it and then I was in for a treat ! This game is amazin' !!!! A simple platformer very easy to play with a lot of ground to cover and a lot of treats waiting to be found. Perfectly designed for kids and for people who like to enjoy while playing and not to be frustrated with dumb quests/puzzles. Beatiful audio/visuals with easy gameplay makes Mickey a game for everyone.
Visually, it's beautiful, and really nice to play. It's not hard so everyone can play it. Although it's a little short and casual, and once you're done with it, it's done. No replay value. Unless you were a fan of the original and really enjoyed it. One thing though, not long ago the game was fixed up to 30 FPS, but that was fixed in the latest update so now can go past that limit, which is a good thing for these type of games. Highly recommended for the kids (or the kids at heart).
