Game description

“The game is supposed to reflect the inner struggle, depressive feelings and the emotional journey of a woman and well, if being a woman feels even remotely like this I can only condone with you ladies.” Contrapand

“The Lady deceives you with its simplicity and reminds you with its brutality that some things are not easily overcome.” Lady Wasd

“A true indie game, The Lady gives players a peek at how scary mental illness can be and provides a strange, yet comforting source for those who may be struggling with their own mental health.” NoobFeed

The Lady is a 2D Surreal Puzzle/Adventure game with Horror elements. The game features hand drawn character art, photographic backgrounds, stop-motion themed animation, and a hauntingly abrasive analog soundtrack. The game is a short and surrealist emotional journey that takes The Lady through a series of fever dream hallucinations, while being at odds with her inner struggles of anxiety and depression.

She encounters multiple versions of herself throughout the game, unsure of which versions to trust. The Gameplay Mechanics are inspired by classic SNES and Turbo Grafx16 type games. The level of difficulty is brutal, just like life. The game is displayed in a “waist up” cinematic style, for a more personal experience. Gameplay features side-scrolling exploration, very simple puzzle solving (maze style situations), arcade-style battles, and plays in letterbox full screen HD.

Stylish art but lacking substance

So, first off: the music sets a good horror mood, and the character design is simple but effective. Now, the problem: there's very little point. It feels like a painting made by someone with a lot of skill but not a lot of vision. It seems like it's personal and deep in the artist's eyes, but nothing in it ever ended up engaging me.

Side-scrolling Adventure!

Cool Horror art style, good music, and sets the mood for the player for this horror genre game! While there is not a huge amount of content for the game itself, what is provided is satisfactory and fun for any gamer who picks it up. unless you have a serious fear of the weird, creepy, and slightly insane nature, pick it up and enjoy.

Great game!

The Lady is an Indie game, with a great combination of horror, puzzle and action genres, which is very unique. The game is very simple and a bit scary. The graphics are the only thing I did not like about the game, but it fits really well with the game's artstyle. The soundtrack is one of the best features, since it makes the game really creepy, which is really cool. Anyway, I recommend this game to all people, except kids or those who do not enjoy creepy games. But I,do think a lot of people would have a good time playing it.

Wonderful indie game.

The Lady was undoubtedly one of the best indie games, at least for me, everything in the game is simply very simple and creepy. The game's graphics are one of the strength point, it has an amazing quality what makes the player to further involve the game. The game's gameplay is bad, the controls respond poorly badly to all commands and interaction with the scenario is also a bad point, leaving the game annoying at some times. Unlike rich scenarios, this is extremely weak in this regard because everywhere are repeated. I recommend this game to everyone as well as being extremely enjoyable, graphics and the lady character are perfect. In addition, the game can fully immerse players in the plot which is a very positive point. But I think that you will cloy of this game very fast.

Wierd indie horror

This title is better described as an experience rather than a game. The art style, is awesome, and really captures the eye. The music is very nice too, and creates just the perfect mood and atmosphere. But the story and gameplay, well, those are nice, but not much. It is a side-scrolling puzzler, you move on, do puzzles and reach the end. The controls can get clunky, and sometimes not so smooth. Overall, I'd give it 7/10, more like a form of art, but can be enjoyable.
