This game is painfully average at best - while the plot is engaging and nice, the graphics are downright awful and painful to look at, because of forced 30fps lock on PC that you can't get turn off. Music is unmemorable and while some of the puzzles are good, most of them are incredibly easy. Also, it is insanely short game, around 4 hours. For 1,99 it's actually good pick, especially if you're hungry for point and click game, but otherwise stay away from it.
OH YOU BETTER BE! Collect info, examine suspects, hear not just what they say, but HOW they said; okey you're Columbo. Not the actual character but you can get the just real early where this game comes from if the gamer is familiar with this show (which you should be). Follow the clues, deduct your reasoning, build a timeline, AND NAIL THAT S.O.B! Is it the greatest thing since sliced bread!? No. Not even close. But this game is still an all around fun play-through. Pick it up and give it a try.
Agatha Christie: The ABC Murders is an adventure investigation game that has you looking for clues and questioning people to solve a murder. Graphics are cell shaded and don't end up looking very good, the animations rarely look right and even walking from one side of a room to another causes a lot of awkward movements. The environments themselves look nice but there is not much to interact with. Sound wise the music is good and fits the time period, unfortunately sound effects are poor, voice acting is ok though the lines aren't always delivered well. Gameplay involves finding clues in environments are by observing people, you are told how many things you need to find and a visual indicator around the cursor tells you where to look taking any real challenge or detective work out of the game. Once clues are gathered you can put together a timeline of when the events you are looking into happened. The game has some decent, if usually simple, puzzles. I'm not familiar with the novel so I can't say how good of an adaptation it is but the story and characters were ok in this. The game could be worth a look if you can get it on sale.
