This game is nearly the same as Counter Strike 1.6, with expanded content. I didn't spend too much time playing it because I jumped to Source and this one was kind of put aside for me. It's not that it's bad though, it just didn't caught my attention. I have it and I didn't spend more than 1 hour playing it... but if I was to buy 1.6, I would probably go and buy this one. Same game, more content!
Counter Strike: Condition Zero is a great game on the Counter Strike series, with new and improved maps, the gameplay experience is great for all the gamers who enjoy First Person Shooter kind of games. The quality of the game is excellent, the graphics are very good but could be better, and the sounds are the only thing that let me down, because they used the same as the older games from the series. Anyway I still would recommend this game to all the FPS gamers and mainly to who used to play past Counter Strike, because the experience is great and similar to the other ones. Overall, a really good old game that is a classic!
this may be the weirdest one in the series but the story is actually quite fun to play with especially getting the gold medal on every mission on every difficulty. it's more like a patch for 1.6 as it adds new skins , maps and some updates in other maps
It added bots, which was nice if you couldn't play online (which was me for quite a while). Some new guns, new maps, slightly better graphics. However, once Source came out, this was viewed as obsolete. It's still pretty fun. It has a lot of new maps that hadn't been ported over to CSS last I checked. It also has a single player campaign, which is kind of fun to play on but there are honestly better single player FPS campaigns out there. Definitely pick up the valve pack, all of these games are awesome.
When they developed this game it seemed like they couldn't decide whether or not they wanted to make a good single player/co-op experience or an actually competitive death-match game with good gun mechanics. The game design remains true to the original, Counter-Strike 1.6, but the artwork and gun-play held it back. You'll notice upon playing that the M4 Carbine looks a lot more cartoony and so do the models of the players - it is as if they were afraid of sharp edges in the artwork department. It felt like you were shooting a nerf gun half the time. However, they did implement fun new mechanics that weren't previously seen - and interesting new maps as well. This is more like an expansion and what seemed like a test of what they could get away with. If you want to see Counter-Strike with liberties taken in the design process - or you'd like a pleasant single player experience in the same universe, this is the game for you.
