Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that ensued, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to the Earth.
Brought before the sacred Charred Council, War is indicted for his crimes and stripped of his powers. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible.
Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication.

So many reviews compare this game to Zelda and there is actually good reason. However, this game deviates from the Zelda formula to do something different in an environment not often seen in games. The similarities end at using newly found gadgets in each dungeon. You play as one of the four horseman - War. Without spoiling the story I will say that the game involves betrayal, revenge, and lots and lots of killing. Combat: Numerous weapon choices with many different combos and abilities. For those who like the technicality of complex combat, this game will provide what you need especially on the higher difficulties. For those who prefer simpler combat, learning a few good combos is all you really need. There is a horse in the game and you can fight from its back. Many different kinds of enemies to fight throughout the game will never leave you bored. Gadgets: Wars gets various abilities throughout the game that allow him to access new areas even in previously played levels. Some ideas are taken from other games, while others are new and interesting. Each dungeon has simple puzzles that utilize the gadgets. Graphics and Sound: The PS4 version runs at a full 60 fps with a few improvements for Pro owners. The graphics hold up nice as the game has an overall stylized look to it. Music and sound work, but I don't have any memories of stand out tracks. The voice acting is great. Overall a wonderful game for those who like puzzle dungeons and strong combat. Also a relatively easy Platinum trophy for those who like that.
