A decent game if bought for a low price

Deadly 30 is a 2D side scrolling shoot em up game with some tower defence elements and with a look somewhat similar to a Metal Slug game. You will need to hold out against the undead for thirty days and will do that by venturing out of your base to gather the needed supplies to get better guns and to create defences at your base. You will also find two other characters that can help you defend the base. There is a day and night cycle with the enemies becoming more difficult to fight through at night. The game reminds me more of a flash game you might find and Newgrounds and it is pretty simple, it also isn't optimised that well and has trouble running on computers that really shouldn't have a problem with it. If you can find the game for a lower price it might be worth checking out if it looks fun to you.

Great Indie Survival Game

I like the character portraits and animation. It is done by a well known YouTuber, Gonzo. The controls are solid. You can move around responsively and killing zombies feel pretty good. The game is pretty difficult and you aren't going to figure everything out in the first go. If you like trying things out and figuring out the best strategy to survive, this game is a pretty solid buy especially on sale. I would definitely play this on my iphone, but still this on the PC is a good in between game if you are taking a break from a bigger game. I think I got this for around $1-2 on sale and I don't regret it.

Neat little survival game

The game is pretty much nothing more than a flash game. Performance is pretty lacking as well. FPS wouldn't go beyond 30, but most of the time it was ~27. The game works, kill zombies, get scrap, buy new and bigger guns to kill zombies easier. It can be pretty difficult and give you a bit of a challenge. It's nothing great, but it works well for what it is. Something you can play if just want to waste a few minutes here and there. The art is great, and it's a neat flash-like game.

Surprisingly entertaining side scrolling horde mode shooter

I bought this game when it was on a very steep discount and I find it surprisingly entertaining. I have 100% completed this game (all achievements) in 9 hours, according to steam. This side scrolling shooter (think Contra or more similarly Metal Slug) has you control, eventually, 3 characters with upgradable weapons. The goal is deceptively simple, which is to survive 30 waves of increasingly brutal zombie attacks. During the day, you can leave the base to find loot but being outside during the night will probably kill you. Although simple, the game is far from simplistic. There are tough choices to be made, such as whether to upgrade your character or upgrade your base; whether to buy that cheaper gun that will help you now or try to save for that better gun later; whether to go a little further and risk being outside at night. These dynamics make the game challenging and fun to learn while playing. The cartoony gore effects are also definite pluses. However, the game does lag a bit at seemingly random times. Deadly 30 is cheap, fun and stress relieving entertainment. I fully recommend picking it up, even without any discount.

A good time-waster with a sense of humor

Zombie survival is something that has been done to un-death in recent years, and for the most part Deadly 30 is no exception. There's not a whole lot of innovation to be had here, but the experience you do get is solid. Good gunplay, defense mechanics that make sense, and three different characters that all have solid roles that are all useful for survival. For me, there were really only two downsides to this game, considering what it is ultimately supposed to be. One, while the overall sound design is passable, the spoken dialog is noticeably lower quality. It sounds as if the voice actors frequently overloaded their microphones, resulting in static whenever a character shouts or speaks loudly. And two, while you can freely switch between any of the characters you've found, you can't choose which one to start the game with. That alone would have added a good deal of replayability. Despite its flaws, I can still safely recommend this game to anyone interested in a quick but challenging survival game.
