The best addition on Doom 3 BFG is the ability to play Doom 1 and Doom 2, with Doom 2's add-on, so when you buy Doom 3 BFG you get every Doom game with every expansion on PC before Doom 3! Doom 3 BFG also has all the add-ons of Doom 3 and the flashlight can be used on any weapon. The game has better graphics and effects, they made the game slightly easier with the new checkpoint system but I'd say that's a good thing. Doom 3 BFG also has achievements, EVEN ON DOOM 1 & 2 which is REALLY great!

Doom BFG version is a remastered version of Doom 3 from 2004, including two DLCs: Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Mission (available only in this version). There are also classic versions of Ultimate Doom and Doom II. In addition to the increased resolution, improved textures and 3D effects, the controversial flashlight mechanics were abandoned. The strongest aspect of this game is horror, darkness and tension, along with a good soundtrack that creates a great and unique atmosphere. Great remaster!

It's DOOM for godsake, people are still playing the original release since it was published. In terms of replay value, it doesn't get much better than this. BFG edition contains the entire DOOM franchise all in one fairly tidy package, you'll easily get hundreds of hours of gameplay out of it. Rough edges aside, this collection is arguably one of the best of all time and deserves a place in any fps library. Just as long as you consider this release an Ultimate Collection, instead of the remaster they wanted you to believe it was.

Basically, BFG edition is remastered version of Doom 3 with upgraded textures and some major fixes, like getting rid off of flashlight and finally mounting it to weapon instead of making it one. There is also really awesome Resurrection of Evil standalone expansion and 8 new levels simply called "The Lost Mission", which is about first marine going down to the gates of Hell. Sadly, it doesn't bring anything new to the table and is only rehashing content that was already in both Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil. There's also Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 with expansion episode "No rest for the living" included in this package and while those are still great games to play. Sadly, some changes are for the worse, like incredibly harsh censorship, like removing/toning down blood, removing some imagery, which takes away atmosphere a little. Still, for this price, it's good package for Doom 3 alone, as for Ultimate and 2, you're better off getting Doom classic complete.

This game brings back memories into a new "newgen" graphics. To be honest it looks bad comparing to original. 68/100
