The Order of Marcus, long dormant in its isolation, is expanding. The renowned ranger Cornelius, armed with his spear and trained in the arts of subterfuge, has been tasked with preparing the world of Illis for the coming of the order.
New Features: Ranger Cornelius possesses a holy spear that can apply special powers to his attacks. In Elven Legacy, each unit's operation could only be performed once per turn - one move and one attack. Ranger Cornelius can now use special attributes of his sacred spear without losing his turn. For example, he can activate a paralysing stroke and then throw the spear at the enemy. The enemy unit will not only suffer damage from the attack, but they will also be unable to move during the enemy’s turn.
16 New Missions
3 New Heroes
5 Unique Artifacts
12 New Spells
Elven Legacy: Ranger adds a new campaign to the Elven Legacy where you take control of a human ranger that wields a holy spear. Some have found this expansion to be significantly more difficult than the main game, while others have had an easier time. Part of that is likely because gaining money to upgrade and buy units has become easier but actually keeping the units alive may have become more difficult and some missions will start you with very small forces and have you taking on a much greater number of enemies. The voice work and cutscenes of the main game is not present, replaced only with text to tell the story. You get a lot of content at a cheap price but most of it is going to be more of the same so unless you were a big fan of the original it may be best to skip this one.
