Game description

Inspired by reading more than one thousand Russian fairy tales, this is a story about love, spite, greed, modesty, humility and seeking. It is divided into four acts - according to the four seasons. That means you'll visit some of the game locations several times, but every time at a different season and in a different time of day.

Together with the characters of a humble girl Nastienka and gallant hero Ivan you are to overcome many baits and puzzles and in the end you'll try some of the wedding's pirozhki.

You are awaited by mysterious beings and magic objects, wild beasts and domestic animals and pets, guileful highway robbers, evil hag Baba Yaga, Old Man Mushrooom, prudent Father Frosty and many other traditional and non-traditional fairy-tale characters.

Any child able to switch a computer on can play this with parental assistance, however, this is ideal for children aged 6 years as their first game as the PC control system is for the beginner.

Can be a good game for children but won't interest anyone else

Puzzles were made very easy so that younger kids could play it, there's nothing interesting about the design of any of them, most just being to use the obvious correct object on something else, but also no really badly designed or obscure ones like some older adventure games. Character and environment art isn't very good, even for an early 2000 game during regular gameplay, it is terrible in story scenes where it is closer to the characters. The world itself is also uninteresting to look at. Many of the characters have very annoying personalities, often made worse by their voice acting which is quite poor for most of the cast. The game is on the shorter side and the love story between the characters, that you swtich between controlling, feels very forced and out of nowhere, but the overall message of the game is being a good person. The game plays in a 640x480 resolution and some people have had frequent crashes while playing the game, though it did work for me without many issues the game is likely only guaranteed to work well in Windows 98 or possibly XP.
