I like it, but only with mods. That's the only reason I would play this game. Moddingway is the main mod that people use for FIFA games. Mods make this game better. Without mods, this game is pretty much another FIFA 16 game, but the movement is more realistic, but not that much different from FIFA 15. I only buy FIFA games every 2-3 years, so my experience with this game will probably be different than yours (the reader). All in all, it's your typical FIFA game, and FIFA games are about the only games that I will never get tired of.
I've spent 300+ hours on this game and I absolutely love it. Everything about this game is good and the ultimate team mode is also fun. The game still have some funny bugs but those are acceptable.
A decent experience with a much better release on PC than FIFA 15. Unfortunately the passing system is poor and holds back the game. The new long pass is a welcome edition but the passing power and accuracy of medium passes is terrible which has a big effect on the gameplay. The inclusion of women to the game is great as the women's sides play differently than the men's making it feel like an additional game mode. Training players via mini-games in career is welcome addition as are a few quality of life changes to Ultimate team along with the Draft mode which can be fun but overly expensive to enter. Another negative is you cannot make custom set pieces anymore or use team practice mode. My overall score is based on the amount of options, teams, and modes available along with the gameplay which holds down the score.
After all these years of FIFA and PES fighting for the best football game in the world, it always ends up that one wins one year, the other next year. While I love the idea of seeing the "female part" of the business in this year's FIFA edition, I still don't find it much better than the last year's one. It is a pretty nice game with great graphics, physics and all that. But seriously, let's face the reality in the eye, literally no better features or bug fixes have been assigned to this year's FIFA edition if I compare it to FIFA 15. One of my friends said that everything that was bad about last year's FIFA is existing in this one as well. And, oh God, if you only knew how right he was.
FIFA 16 is at heart still the same FIFA game that you have known and loved over the years. However this year EA decided to switch up a few mechanics here and there in order to keep this years edition fresh. The most notable difference is the changes that have been made in passing. Passing is no longer the easy to use mechanic that it used to be, now passing requires a lot more skill and patience. Although this sounds fine on surface level, it does mean that FIFA does become a lot less easy to simply pick up and play off the start. Even as a quite experienced FIFA player I was having trouble with it as it took me a fair few games to adjust to. The weighting of the passing also provided for some issues. With the AI in this game being largely improved over that of previous years it felt though after weighting patiently for a pass to open up, the pass had no weight to is and slowly rolled to the player causing for a immediate interception from the AI. However despite this the game is still definitely enjoyable, it simply just takes a little bit more time to master. I definitely see myself playing this throughout the year as I go onto build my ultimate team. Overall this is a great game and despite the flaws that it has it is certainly a game I would recommend for any football (or soccer) lover!
