Who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is not like the other Ghostbusters game. Instead of a clever and funny story written by the original cast members, it is an ok story about a man who wants to resurrect a god, because really that’s all anyone ever does these days in Ghostbusters. As with the previous Ghostbuster game, you play as a new recruit, but this time you are part of a team of new recruits. Additionally, where the previous Ghostbusters game was a Gears of War-styled game, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is a twin stick shooter where you have to bust ghosts using various beams and other Ghostbuster weapons, all of which are color coordinated so you know which ones are most affective against certain enemies. It doesn’t try to do anything new that other twin stick shooters haven’t done, aside from the whole Ghostbusting thing of course. Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is a decent game on its own. It is an enjoyable experience, but don’t play it after playing the previous Ghostbusters game, as you will feel let down when comparing the two.

Not a good Ghostbusters game and gameplay gets boring

Sanctum of Slime is a twin stick shooter where you play as new Ghostbuster recruits helping the original Ghostbusters after ghost activity has increased. The story is told through decent looking comic panels that will let you know what is happening but the humor of Ghostbusters is absent and none of the characters are interesting. The gameplay has you travelling from room to room, getting locked in, and fighting off waves of enemy ghosts by changing your weapon type to the matching color of the enemy ghosts to defeat them. It quickly becomes boring, there isn't enough variety, the characters play the same way, and there is no real replay value. You end up with a dull twin stick shooter with a higher price point than better games in the genre and a Ghostbusters game that misses everything that made people enjoy it.
