I don't know about you, but if I buy DLC for a game, it's after I finished the game. The new character classes from this DLC are weaker than the top-tier classes in the base game, so you won't end up using them unless you're trying to make things extra difficult for yourself. OOPS. (The devs did a good job of making every class unique, but now they need to add a way to upgrade the lower classes to be able to compete with with the Cartomancer and other top tier classes). The new Drunken Pirate class is boring - he's just a berserker who does high physical damage at the cost of hurting himself. He can't do anything cool, like stun an enemy by ordering his (drunken?) parrot to go for the eyes or smack them with his empty bottle of rum. (There is a "rum" ability, but it's a lame healing gimmick that just encourages you to burst down pirates when they're low health). I haven't unlocked the other two classes (and I'm not going to, because I'm getting a Steam refund for this before it's too late) but I hear that they're lame and underpowered.
This DLC for Guild of Dungeoneering adds a new region, the Pirates Cove, which, for me, was very fun. It also adds new enemies native to the Cove so the area fells more complete. If you have completed the game, and liked it, then you must purchase this pack. If you just started the main game, wait and see if you like it (you will) before you buy this.
