Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance is the sequel to highly acclaimed turn-based strategy game Massive Assault. Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance features a renewed global conflict between the Free Nations Union and Phantom League in distant space colonies.
The game is based on the Massive Assault’s original "Secret Allies" concept, acknowledged by the press and the players as innovative and easy to learn and hard to master one and in many respects rejuvenating turn-based genre.
Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance is turn-based strategy game and a solid sequel to Massive Assault - it is bigger and better. While graphics today might not look mind-blowing, are passable and fine, soundtrack is also pretty good, but the explosions and sound effects are sadly lacking and don't have the punch. The amount of modes and difficulty settings are plenty and it is hard to get bored, the UI is easy to use and tactical gameplay is sound. The thing that made this game stand out from the crowd was that there was no base building at all and it was all about the tactics and dealing with units you have. On one had it makes for some challenging gameplay, but on the other, you have nothing else to do than plan your units. This is something you must get used to. Overall, pretty good game, maybe little outdated, but still really fun to play.
