Metal Dead is the first in a planned series of comedic, heavy metal influenced, apocalyptic point'n'click adventure games packed with everyone's favorite undead creatures, zombies!
This twisted tale centers on two metal-heads in the midst of a zombie invasion. After crashing their car in front of a medical research facility, they become trapped and are forced to use their wits to puzzle their way to freedom. Along the way, they must deal with a cast of characters who range from mildly deranged to completely insane.
Metal Dead is a full-length old school adventure game, featuring:
Over 40 interactive rooms
17 unique, quirky characters
Built-in hint system
Fully orchestrated midi soundtrack
Extensive script packed with comedy goodness
5-7 hours of gameplay
The narrative and overall story may not be the best, nor is it original, but the game doesn't focus on the story that much, rather on the action that makes this game good.Although it si a point and click game which i mostly don't play i got it for free so i thought "hey, lets give it a try" and i don't regret it.It is good and the choice in music contributes to certain gameplay elements and feelings such as when you are in danger the music is fast and makes you stressed.Great game, even for 3.50 quid.
Metal dead is an interesting game. It's funny, well written and well thought out. The art has a very fun look to it and adds to the humor. The story is pretty good and the gameplay is typical point-and-click fashion. This game is pretty short (about 1 1/2 hours to complete it the first time through). The puzzles are challenging and really make you think, but aren't impossibly hard. Overall I enjoyed it. I never got bored and I laughed quite a few times.
Metal dead starts off with the protagonist Malcolm and best friend for life, Ronnie who stumbles upon zombies in a beat up car. Oscar winning narrative here. But hey its a zombie game, we're not here for that. The game is what it is for what you pay for. Its a mindless fun game with inventory based puzzles. Some are genuinely clever whilst some are absolutely trivial. The artwork is suggestive that the game would be funny - its hilarious at times and to be quite frank, actually well-written for the majority part of the game. My only issue with this game was that I wish it had lasted longer as by the time you truly get to appreciate the game for what it is - its over.
