Neo-Paris. 2084. Personal memories can now be digitized, bought, sold and traded. The last remnants of privacy and intimacy have been swept away in what appears to be a logical progression of the explosive growth of social networks at the beginning of the 21st century. Citizens have accepted this surveillance society in exchange for the comforts only smart technology can provide. This memory economy gives immense power over society to a handful of people. Remember Me™ is a 3rd person action adventure where players take on the role of Nilin, a former elite memory hunter with the ability to break into people’s minds and steal or even alter their memories. The authorities, fearful of her knowledge and capabilities arrested Nilin and wiped her memory clean. After her escape from prison, Nilin sets out on a mission to recover her identity, helped by her last and only friend. This search for her past leads to her being hunted by the very people that created this surveillance society.

Remember Me is a third person action game with platforming sections and moments where you look into and alter memories. The combat in the game is nothing to interesting in how it plays out but they included a system that allows you to edit your own combos with certain ones being able to break enemy guard, give you health, etc, this system makes the battles more interesting but there are some things that you should obviously do that will limit more unique or creative options and the enemies and move variety themselves aren't that varied. Changing the memories of characters is done by viewing a flashback and interacting with things in the environment to change the situation, these are the more interesting moments in the game and there can be different ways to fail (which leads you to doing it again) or to complete the memory. What hurts the game is the fairly short length, dull platforming that seems to just be there to make it longer like in a lot of modern games, and the uninteresting and fairly ridiculous turn that the story starts to take at the end. It's worth a try to see something a bit different but by themselves none of the ideas are that original and it is only average in some areas.
This game gives good first impressions. The Cyberpunk paris setting is beautiful and fun to explore. Art design and character designs are top notch. The story and characters are really cool. Unfortunately the gameplay does not hold up. Environments are too linear. The platforming and combat are boring and repetitive.Reliving someone else's memories is fun , but the game is a chore to play.
