Rollercoasters, who doesn't love them? Rollercoaster Tycoon allows you to design your own thrill rides in your very own theme parks. The isometric tile system is easy to get the hang of yet is very powerful for those that want to design beautiful park. The campaigns themselves are a lot of fun, though typically they blend together once you get your park up and making money (with the exception of a few levels, such as the one where you can't alter the landscape). Overall, this game is a blast and still holds up nearly two decades later.

I've played all the RollerCoaster games and expansions, but this is still my favorite. 2 is basically a slight expansion of 1 and 3 just tried too hard to integrate better graphics when it wasn't necessary. The best part about this game is that it is for any age. I first played it at 11 and I have found myself playing it multiple times even 10 years later. It is a great game to relax with while you watch a show or even read a book. If things get too slow for your liking you can always fast forward, just watch your guest and currency! It is interesting just how much they threw into a game about building a theme park in 1999. You have the rides, but you also have food/drink stalls, bathrooms (you can make them pay for it too >:D), mechanics, handymen (for those sick ride goers), entertainers, and other such things. One of the fun things to do is to custom build a rollercoaster that is meant to crash, maybe drown a few angry guests, or even let the park get completely vomit covered so you can get the award for the dirtiest park (yes that exists). The newer games just overcomplicate the gameplay. This has it down to an art. Just enough micro management to keep you interested without being a complete chore and enough gameplay to last a good long while. This is truly from the golden age of gaming. Back when the game content mattered more than cutting edge graphics and didn't rely on 50 dlc skin packs.

Building and designing a park that will bring lots of guests is fun. As you learn what guests like, how to theme things, providing a variety of different attractions for different guests to enjoy, etc. There are also other fun things to do like trapping some guests far away from the others and making them participate in literal survivor games (the game does not necessarily support you doing this, but it won't stop you either) and building needlessly complex coasters that intertwine with each other more for your enjoyment than that of the guests. I've had lots of fun with this game.

This one is the classic RCT and that's how I love it. It still looks good enough to not get eye-cancer and the missions are nice and fun. Actually riding your coaster in RCT3 is really fun and of course the classic cant compete with it. But as for the missions this is my favourite game and still the only one where I got motivated to play every single Mission. Makes it an 88 on my scale for a really good game that was 90+ at it's release, but doesn't look too good nowadays.

If making the most insane roller coasters starts to get old, you can switch things up and start making the most elaborate ways to kill your customers which is somehow even more fun. I loved this game as a kid and I still love it, it's a classic and will always be great.
