Game description

SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell is the world’s only competitive heavy metal first-person platformer.
Slice every last millisecond as you race and blast your way through deadly arenas. Teleport, jump, fly, bounce and drop in a hundred merciless and fast paced maps for the ultimate prize: Your soul!

Marty was having a late morning breakfast and minding his own business. The demon knocking on the door wasn’t part of his morning routine. Before Marty was able to open, the hell breed smashed in the doors. A fierce brawl commenced and Marty lost his right arm – but at least the demon also lost his head. Unfortunately, whilst the brawl erupted more demons entered his garage and stole his last batch of limited edition Walrus Ale (tm). Now Marty has become furious! He ripped off the demon’s arm and did some DIY to re-attach his arm back to himself. This demon is no looker but gee it casts some nasty fireballs. Marty’s (after)life now has a single purpose: Go to hell and get his beer back! \m/

Like a bastard child of Quake 3 and Super Meat Boy, SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell is truly hardcore and focuses on speed and fast reaction. Race and jump over platforms and bounce pads and shoot fireballs to reach an exit portal in the minimal amount of time. Reverse time and gravity. Compete with all players for top time in the online high scores. Only the toughest players will receive the Uber Skull medals!

If mind blowing speed and pumping adrenaline through your body is too boring, then search for the beer cans deeply hidden in each level. Who knows which secrets can be discovered by finding all of these delicious refreshments?

Amazing competition for popular games

SEUM was the first game that popped into my mind when I saw Steam's The 'I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award' Award. It's meant to be cult game as in it's not meant for every gamer. But it sure is a load of fun for gamer like myself who spend hundreds of hours playing in BHop servers on CS:S, CS 1.6, CS:GO and Garry's Mod.

Rock and roll

Yeah, it's a very good game, I love the maps. It's very well set up, I love playing it, the rock never dies.

Well made

SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell is like Doom (2016) meets Super Meat Boy with some puzzle elements sprinkled on top. Crazy fast-paced first-person action platforming based around short, addicting challenges that rely on instant resetting, high precision, and puzzle solving. Pop in some heavy metal, set the game in Hell, and have a story about a trucker who must use his newly acquired demon?s arm to navigate through the depths of the damned realms in order to recover his lost beer and you have it all. What?s not to love? I?ve always been a fan of watching speed running and I tune into every Games Done Quick event there is but it always seemed so out of reach; an impossible task to break into as it requires insane accuracy and frame-perfect timing. SEUM let?s you feel that awesome by allowing you to discover your own speedy way to the exit without being impossible. As you cut corners or find alternate ways of navigating a stage to cut down on time with each try you feel a great sense of accomplishment and once a difficult level is finally beaten, it?s enough to make you throw out the devil?s horns or even play a lick on the old air guitar.

Well made speedrunner with a heavy metal theme

SEUM Speedrunners from Hell is a first person platformer made for speedrunning and with a heavy metal theme behind the mechanics, soundtrack, and art style. Every level will give you a certain amount of time to reach the exit, a blue portal, in order to do so you will have to avoid traps, activate devices, use bounce platforms, use special abilities, and rely on your ability to run and jump accurately over gaps. Traps might include fast moving fireballs that shoot out from certain areas, swinging blades, and saw blades coming out of the ground. You might have to activate platforms or portals by jumping through them or hitting devices with the fireball that you can shoot. Certain levels may give you additional tools such as an orb you can throw that allows you to teleport to it or the ability to reverse gravity. Stages can also have different collectibles and hidden paths to discover that will help you reach a higher leaderboard spot. Worth a try for fans of platformers or of competing with leaderboard times.
