At over 700 hrs, this is an engrossing chapter to the series. Its a lot of the same in regards to how things are done, 4x turn based, Ghandi is still awful, race to space, yadda yadda. This one gets a glossy new coating, some interesting concepts with Brave new World and Gods and Kings and Steam Workshop integration. Really the only gripe i have is that you have to buy certain scenarios to get all the wonders and civilizations. Don't go cheap on this, buy the complete game to avoid that mess.

This is a good Civ game which improves on most of the aspects of the previous game. There are more diplomatic options and more ways to play - who doesn't like more ways to play? There is a lot of depth and replayability for this game. Not to mention the achievements! Those are real challenges unlike in many other games. Also, the DLCs are actually worth the money since they offer even more ways to play, and it really shows how much the devs poured into them. They do not feel like they were stripped from the original game just to be sold as DLCs at all. They added countless hours to my playthrough, and will surely provide you a ton of engaging entertainment.

Warning: this game is addicting; I have hundreds of hours of gameplay logged on it. Civilization V is a fantastic addition to a great series. The graphics are stunning, the gameplay is intuitive and fun, and the music is amazing. All in all, this game is very good and I highly recommend it.

One thing I could never understand was how people could have 1,000's of hours of playing games like this up until the time I played it. In no sense would I say this is a quick pick up game, as a game on the quickest difficulty playing solo can last around 10hours. If you're with friends, you better clear out the weekend, and the next just in case. The graphics are colorful and vibrant. The game play is very entertaining and pulls you in for the "one more turn" style of game play. Where the real fun comes is when you play with a group of friends. There is no other game that can tear friendships apart as easy as this one. Just hope you're the one with the nukes.

Civ V is an excellent strategy game that is only strengthened by it's DLC, unlike many other games today. It is fairly easy to get into, has a ton of variety, and even has multiplayer. If you're a fan of any strategy games, you should definitely give this game a try.
