The Ship is owned by the mysterious Mr X and as one of many "lucky" recipients of a free ticket you arrive on board The Ship to find there's a catch to your luxury cruise. The passengers are coerced into a brutal Hunt to indulge Mr. X's fantasies. Can you survive the voyage? Can you unravel the mystery of Mr X and ultimately can you escape his clutches?
This single player mission based campaign provides a good introduction to the world of The Ship.
I even enjoyed the singleplayer. It was short, which is actually a plus the older I get. I like the games sense of humor, nothing is taken seriously. It can run on my extremely average laptop. It would be great if they made a sequel. The multiplayer is all the craziness escalated fourfold. A lot of fun.
This game is very fun. Your basically sent off to kill other cruise members who may or may not be your best friends. And as you try and hunt down your target, someone is hunting you down. Theres a large number of ways to kill each other as well. Theres also secret areas. Oh, you also have to fulfill functions as you hunt and get hunted. Such as eat, sleep, drink, poop, read, etc. The only down side is the AI can be fairly stupid... Like they all get grouped up on one area, and with one miss fired flare they'd all die. Anyways if you do plan to buy this game, I'd say wait for the HD remake. I think the release date for that is Spring 2016, but you should check for yourself.
A friend purchased this game for me because he had a spare copy. I took it happily and thought why not give it a go. Now at first, i though that game was different and interesting but i just couldn't really get into it. The graphics are also not the best just making it a bit more negative in my perspective. This game is by far best played with friends otherwise it is useless! Basically the aim of the game is that you have to kill someone and someone else has to kill you. There are many people on the boat but there is only 1 trying to get you. Overall though, the price for the game is really not too shabby. I would recommend trying to pick it up for maybe $4 or less as that would be an ideal price for a game like this.
The ship is something that can keep you occupied for hours on hours, but only if you have a good group of friends playing next to you. I can't imagine playing this game on your own. There is nothing more exciting/aggravating than watching your friends murder/ get murdered by you, or even the computer players. The screams of aggravation alone will make sitting in a room with players entertaining. From all the good of the game, the graphics are quite "cute" but primitive, the combat would not be considered well, as hilarious as it is. and again, not a game to play solo in the slightest.
The Ship is a game about timing, patience and hunting down your prey without getting caught. Unlike most first person shooters, your task doesn't involve gunning down anyone you please and that's the beauty of this game. Instead, your task is to hunt down your randomly selected target but be aware that you're also someone else's prey. For a game that's almost 10 years old, The Ship still holds up to this day with fun, addictive and creative gameplay that never gets boring. There are plenty of active servers with a lot of people still playing them and there are a variety of maps to choose from. There is a single-player story mode, but it's mainly a tutorial on how to play the game with different objectives and of course you'll be killing bots. For most players, you may want to skip it and jump straight to the main game. Before hunting down your prey, you must find a suitable weapon and there are a lot to choose from, ranging from firearms and melee weapons to a poisonous syringe. However, keep in mind that you also need to look after your character by eating and drinking as well as sleeping, keeping yourself clean and of course, going to the toilet. For a game that costs less than £2, you can't go wrong with the Ship. I highly recommend this, especially with friends. Happy hunting!
