The next instalment in the multi award-winning PC series that combines turn-based strategy with real-time tactics, Total WarTM: ATTILA casts players back to 395 AD. A time of apocalyptic turmoil at the very dawn of the Dark Ages.

How far will you go to survive? Will you sweep oppression from the world and carve out a barbarian or Eastern kingdom of your own? Or will you brace against the coming storm as the last remnants of the Roman Empire, in the ultimate survival-strategy challenge?

The Scourge of God is coming. Your world will burn.

Good.... but no cigar

I was very exited when i first saw videos for this game, it did and still does promise a very fun base game with a fun campaign and many battles to be had. However the game is very poorly optimised so only very good systems will play it well but most systems can still cope. As well as this it's really a different version of rome 2 total war. It seems like the napoleon to empire, it is still fun but it seems almost like they took the same game and edited it. A lot of crashes at launch, but most were fixed but save a lot. Some new mechanics change up the game and the horde system is very fun. As well as this the family tree has returned and adds a level of intimacy with the game not perhaps seen in rome 2. I will give a 70 for what is a very fun game, however the optimisation and crashes bring it down, also if you have rome 2 be prepared for much of the same!

Hordes to War

Lastest entry in the Total War series, Attila is a vast improvement over Rome 2. First of all, the game's presentation is a lot better than before. The game just looks gorgeous and greatly detailed. The User Interface has been completely revamped for the better. For example, the skill tree is now a lot clearer than before. The game system has also been improved. First, the Roman Empire is no more overpowered. On the contrary, this faction starts with a huge legendary challenge : you will be attacked all the time from all directions. New factions have been added. Among them are the german tribes and kingdoms like the Franks or the Visigoths. But, of course, the stars of this game are the Huns. This nomad tribe is very interesting to play because at the beginning of the campaign you don't have any town or city. Your hordes are your only option. The hordes are like mobile towns that can stop for one turn in order to build new things. Also, you can raze towns. Furthermore, the long lost family tree is also back! Attila is a lot better than Rome 2. However, the game is still glitchy and poorly optimised so be aware that it can be a challenge this title on less powerful computers.
