Poor and dead multiplayer with an afterthought single player thrown in

Legolas_Katarn

Umbrella Corps manages to make an even worse Resident Evil game then Operation Raccoon City did. The game is primarily made for multiplayer but does feature 20 some single player missions, which are all similar and take place on the games few maps, because you are only fighting zombies you aren't even able to make any real use of the game's mechanics, the cover system just ends up getting in the way. A badly written story is told through journal entries as you play through the stages. Multiplayer mode consists of a deathmatch with no respawns and a mode with different random objectives over a small amount of maps that are mostly taken from prior areas from old Resident Evil games. The game is full of strange and unfinished looking animations, such as the odd way that your gun is always raised to the side of your face or the speed and look of characters as they crawl around on the floor. Movement usually feels like you are sliding around the map, the guns feel weak, and the melee kills are overpowered and ridiculous for the setting. The only positive part of the game is the ways that you can customize your character's appearance and gun look but there is no reason to want to customize and unlock equipment in a game with such poor gameplay. There are zombies and creatures from the series spread around the map in multiplayer modes that might attack you, which could have been interesting in a better game, maybe a multiplayer focused mode in Call of Duty's zombie maps. The Deluxe Edition includes cosmetics, most notably ones that can change the appearance of characters to different Resident Evil series protagonists. These changes don't alter or add anything meaningful to the game and the added price makes this a worse version of the game.

Doesn't make for a good single or multiplayer game
