Still the best

Even nearly 8 years after it's debut it still stands up as one of the most addictive and elaborate economic trading sims ever made. The economy is dialed in and the trading aspect is complex enough to keep you on your toes. The graphics have aged the sea battles are beyond lame and yet it beats out modern games in this genres by miles

Best of the series

greywulf | July 11, 2011 | See all greywulf's reviews »

For the money, this is the best of the series. The balance between trading and development is spot on, with just enough options to create a fun and engaging game without overwhelming a non-hardcore gamer. It's an ideal game for someone who wants to get into the more simulation type of gameplay, and has plenty of replayability to keep them coming back time and again.

This is an ideal game for the netbook gamer who wants to sink their teeth (and many hours!) into something more substantial.

Marvelous one

If you like to watch your growing trade empire this is the game for you. All that glitters is not gold they say. Patrician III glitters not but the gameplay is pure gold. It aged extremely well - graphics is still nice and what's most important very functional. There ere many possibilities to make a fortune here - from simple trading through building production facilities to taking part in wedding organisation. Game worth every money - for that price it's a no-brainer.

Great game

A timeless classic. Two-dimensional graphics still pleases the eye, especially in terms of building models. Many options and commercial development of the island will satisfy demanding gamers. By today's standards can not knocks your socks off but you'll definitely have fun. I assure you. For this price you can not find anything better, if you're a fan of classic games.
