ADR1FT is an immersive First Person Experience (FPX) that tells the story of an astronaut in peril. It's better to spend your time with more entertaining games like "To The Moon".!


The expectations of Adr1ft as a particular game were very high. But the developers only managed to meet expectations in the graphics section, and the game in the gameplay and music parts faces a lot of problems that can not be easily pass by them. Due to the tedious and repetitive gameplay of the game, it can be suggested for enjoying the unique graphics power for experiencing virtual reality headsets.

Sitting in a tin can, far above the world


I got to admit it took me two playthroughs to actually love the game. Beware of this, beloved reader: Adr1ft is a Walking simulator -well, more like a floating simulator- where you do nothing but grabbing oxygen cans before your O2 runs off, but the fact is I really enjoyed the title. And I really enjoyed the title because of its deep story and narrative. The crew is so interesting and knowing about their story via logs has never been that effective. I cared about my crew and I didn't even know them. Adr1ft can be considered a relaxing experience where you float around. Even though your O2 metter runs low the more time you spend without finding a new O2 can, there are plenty of time to enjoy the view, and belive me when I say the view is totally worth it. Yes, Adr1ft is just one map and it is not fair comparing it to other videogames, but the visuals are astonishing and remarkable. Couldn't try this on a VR set, but this is the first time it made me want to have one.

Beautiful game with repetitive gameplay


Its a beautiful game. The space environments are great and the atmosphere is amazing. It really captured the feeling of being isolated in space. However the game is too long. Much of the game is spent searching for oxygen tanks and repairing broken tanks, It get really repetitive a couple hours in.

Beautiful environment, human story, dull conflicting gameplay


ADR1FT is a first person game that has you floating through the remains of destroyed space station, apparently the only survivor but with no memory of what happened before you woke up. Your suit is damaged and is constantly leaking oxygen which forces you to have to locate and grab oxygen tanks in the environment, in a shorter game this could have been an ok mechanic and having to reach tanks does work as a way to get you used to the controls, but with a game that can take you over six hours to finish this becomes repetitive and stops you from just enjoying the visuals and trying to piece together what happened. This is made even more unfortunate by having well acted audio logs that tell a very human story that is actually interesting to listen to. Other than looking for oxygen the gameplay mostly involves you trying to follow a compass to objective locations as you attempt to repair things, with little information given for what you are doing. With a game so heavily reliant on its visuals not being able to see the destruction of the station feels like a missed opportunity. Like many games like this, it ends up being hurt by what feels like the developers misguided need to make it more like a "game", needing to avoid making it a "floating simulator" by adding repetitive annoying tasks that only get in the way of your enjoyment and in the way of doing what the game does best which is tell an interesting story with good visuals in an interesting location.
