Dragon dogma on pc was a good choice!

To me, this is a strange one. Dragon's Dogma has... A myriad of things I dislike and that puts me off, yet I come back and pour several hours into it. I had it on my Xbox 360 to begin with back when I was but a console gamer, and decided to get this once I heard it would arrive on PC. Offline hours is sadly not accounted, but needless to say, it's a game I love and hate at the same time, yet simply can't stop playing and having so much fun with it. It's graphics are fine, not picky when it comes to such really. It's sadly become a standard for some these days, which is truly saddening to see. Long gone are the days of "well, is it fun/cool to play?". The gameplay is not bad at all, and when it comes to boss fighting mechanics? Boy, are you in for a treat. When people ask me how I think boss battles should be done, I just send them to Dragon's Dogma. It has flaws, obviously, but the entire "each enemy has weak spots/has weak resistances towards this and that element, so you should probably figure out some plan to slay it with this" and the fact you can climb on your large monsters to bring them down or access harder to hit areas on their bodies is brilliant. The game's story is... Well it's not bad, but it's certainly not a groundbreaking one. Don't expect too much there, but how the game plays out and feels in terms of combat and exploration, unlocking new hidden areas you didn't even know existed on the map, feels so good. And of course, Dark Arisen brings BBI... An island full of mystery and, if you are a fan of playing games on harder difficulties such as I am, you'll find yourself challenged at every turn. I recommend the game, very much so, but I will warn you, it's a slow path at first, but once you start exploring all the "classes" (Vocations) you will find where the game truly shines. Oh, beware romances... They can be... Well, unpredictable in terms of "the ending". 11/10 comedic value if it strikes without warning for you, though.

It's everything it was promised to be and more.

The game is great, any complaint heard so far shouldn't be considered. From the opening cut scene until I reached level 10 I was hooked. Normally when you play an RPG that relies on a class system you want to hurry through the opening beginner classes and progress to the meat of the game, with Dragon Dogma I had no such sentiment. From the moment I gained control of my Arisen (main character) I felt like this world was alive and continued to suck me into the world that they've made (yeah there a prologue story but if you played the demo you'll basically know what it is). The idea of recruiting creating your own companion instead of gathering multiple people into your party actually works. The pawn network literally lets you get whatever companion you'll be needing for your journey, each fight will feel different cause you can mix it up and I didn't have any hick ups at all with the textures or feel of the game. So far Dragon Dogma was been worth the wait and I'm looking forward to putting hours into it.

One of the best RPGs ever made

The PC version of this game is amazing. Don't let the fact that it took a while to get this port over to pc stop you from playing it. DD has some of the best combat in an rpg and has a tight little story wrapped around an interesting world with lots to do and explore. The boss fights are second to none in an RPG and everything about it just feels so satisfying. I wish more games took this kind of approach. The only real drawback is that the game is relatively short with a rather small world to explore but the DLC of Dark Arisen adds a lot of replay to the game with the final dungeon where there are lots of new bosses and challenges to complete. Highly recommend to any RPG fans who enjoy action combat and fun boss fights.

Played it again and again and again and will play it still.

I was really surprised by the game. The controls are a little wonky and the graphics are just ok, but it's a game that nails the 'fun factor' squarely on the head. I noticed it was on sale and wanted to finally write a small review. It's a steal at this price, IMO. I finished the main quest and there's still the expansion for me to explore. This is more of an action rpg with great loot and lots of exploration. It's unforgiving if you wander into the wrong areas, though. The pawn system where you hire companions to help you is pretty cool. I'm fairly picky about the games I like and I found Dragon's Dogma very enjoyable. Highly recommended!
