I started playing the game since the open beta and at that time I was playing another MMO, but FFXIV was simply beautiful, with great graphics, awesome gameplay and an enjoyable story that I just had to quit that old fashion MMO. Simply it just made me feel in love with it. I often get invitations from my friends to play other MMOs that aren't P2P, I play it like 5 hours and I have to come back to Final fantasy, now I can't find joy in other MMO rather than this one. The balance in this game is one of the best things I've ever seen, you actually play to be better than most of the players and not like others where the guy with most cash is the best in the game. I could make a big list of items that this game has to offer but it would be too long, just play it, you won't regret your choice!
Despite the early access issue, i can say: nice story well designed maps and content! great dungeons well combat designs .. The new classes are super fun to play and The battle system changed! soundtrack sounds amazing like always! while Heavensward has the superiority of setting and setup, Stormblood has unforgettable moments and various! I'm so excited to see how the patches comes out! combat changes are the strength of the game! and welcome upgrades just make it more interesting and fun to play!
This expansion is a mixed bag but as a former White Mage, I logged in after a 3 hour queue to find they'd made my class completely worthless. The initial launch was even more of a shambles than usual, and considering Square-Enix have a history of shambolic launches they really should be stepping up to the plate for their paying customers by now. A 3 hour queue to log in, broken main story quests, and constant disconnections because Square-Enix refuse to reinforce their server infrastructure during major releases, are all unacceptable considering we pay to play this game. The content in the expansion is great the new area's, classes, quests, story and music are fantastic. If you played a White Mage or Dark Knight sorry, they've trashed your class, but other than that, the game is great and well worth jumping back in to once they get their act together and sort their servers out. As of right now I'm giving this 3 out of 5 stars because the issues are so bad. Consider this a 4 out of 5 once the issues are corrected.
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood in another DLC for Square MMO series. It introduces many important new features. The largest of these are new locations. This time we fight with the resistance to free the province from the hands of the Empire. We also visit the Far East of Othard, a land which architecture and culture are inspired by Japan. In other words, the area is huge and there are a lot of things to do so if you liked base game try this one out.
The most recent expansion to Final Fantasy XIV, Stormblood, breathes more life into this already excellent game. Something new that the team did was putting a focus on the narrative from the very beginning. You are put in the shoes of the hero facing against an intimidating and powerful villain right away, which is not something Final Fantasy games usually do. The job saga questline also returns, making the variety and versatily of each job that much more apparent and motivating one to try every single one of them. One noticeable problem one will notice sooner or later is the swimming aspect. There are plenty of reasons to explore it of course, such as the beautiful vistas and locales possible to visit only through it, and it's certainly an improvement over Heavensward, but in practice it's not nearly as fun Stormblood also adds two new jobs the Red Mage and the Samurai. You still have the ability to fly, so it's nice to have something to fall back to once you get tired of swimming. The only real problem with this class addition is the fact that both are DPS jobs compared to the previous expansion, that addded a tank, DPS and healer. One doesn't have many reasons to complain at the moment. The new content Stormblood brings to the table is sure to keep any fan of MMOs and Final Fantasy buy for hours on end.
