"Once upon a time, there was a very sad princess. She felt so unloved and unhappy, that everything around her became grey and lifeless and the entire land was deprived of its color and joy. Our fable begins when a single, lonely lantern was lit in a faraway village..."Read full description
All simplicity and oriental beauty in a game without enemies, without challenges ... Lantern is more than a game, it's a quiet and reflective experience. Incredible art and musical direction
Lantern is very similar to a PS3 and PS4 title called Flower, in both games you control a floating object that can bring back color to the world around you. In Lantern you light lanterns while spreading color over the areas you fly past and in Flower you bring back life to a more desolate appearing world while gaining a following of other Flowers. Both are relaxing and charming games with simple controls and gameplay but I have to say I preferred Flower as it felt more natural being a flower, or string of flowers, floating in the breeze, it also felt like it had more of a message behind it as you brought color and life back to an area that is in obvious bad shape, in Lantern you are bringing color back to an area that just looks like it hasn't been colored in yet. Lantern is still an enjoyable and relaxing experience for a fairly low price.
The idea of ??the game is very interesting and developers, as it is rare, managed it. Game turned out to cheer! The game really came out very atmospheric. The game does not go 2 hours, but what you get to see and hear is the 6 euros definitely worth it. I could give it back but I will not. For an evening to relax I would play the game again. It soothes uncommonly and has very many of these "wow-is-the-beautiful" moments. One plays in all 4 seasons and all are very well implemented optically. Especially in the winter I was very positively surprised about the offered, which is why this is my favorite season in this game. Lantern gets clearly a thumbs up.
Nice idea, but didn't work for me.Part of it was using the gamepad. I've seen the gamepad work fine in VR, in such games as IO Moon. But it didn't work for me here. Maybe rewrite the game for VIVE controls and teleporting?.This is the first VR game to give me VR sickness. I can see why they went for flying, but the speed is way too high. Particularly the turning. Adding some speed control options might be a help.
Similar to "Flower" on PSN, great for relaxing after a long day. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrywdIEwm6Q Played through one of the 4 worlds which lasted around an 40minutes, had I been given directions it would halve that time. Painting towns to life is the primary objective and the first level also gave me the task of finding hidden obelisks. Once collected it deciphered a message on a central pillar, not unlike what you might find in a fortune cookie. Video options provided enough that it should run reasonably on lower end systems and did support 4k+ resolutions. Gamepad would be recommend though I had no problems using mouse and keyboard. No rebind options were required as the game has simple 2 button controls. Price is about right. While it may be short in length, certainly has some replayability. Keep in mind it's less 'adventure' and more 'walking sim in the sky' and you should have fun. Cheers.
