Ever played a tower defense game, and then said to yourself "Wow, I wish I could be down there, being one of the defenders!" Well, if that's so, Sanctum is definitely your kind of game! Sanctum grabs you, and throws you right down into the game, right into the midst of the battles. You need to build walls and barriers, you need to set up turrets to take down enemies, and most important, you need guns to help the turrets, and your partners, take down the aliens and they run to the core. It's a very fast paced FPS game, with lots of action and shooting. Multiplayer is just downright fun, as you and your friends battle the aliens to be able to upgrade the turrets, get new guns, and so much more! Sanctum is a game that take Tower Defense to a whole new level, and that's ground level.
Who know such a Action + Tower Defend will mix this much fun. The game offer nice Sci-fi graphic and one of the best thing, Co-op play. If you're Tower defend fans, better try this Experiences!!
A very unique taste to the RTS franchise by adding the FPS element. Not my cup of tea, but for anyone who is big on FPS and strategy you should definitely get this game for the price.
Sanctum 1 was pretty special and unique FPS tower defense, it was pretty balanced. Sanctum 2 is more of an FPS game and the DLC are pretty average. Super Sanctum is average and forgettable.
Sanctum 1: You will have about 12 maps to pick and lots of interesting new tower mechanics. For example there is a tower that boosts the damage of other towers by letting them shoot through it. You have full control about building mazes in this game to complete your masterplan. The blocks you need to build a tower upon are very cheap and let you easily maze the way you want. You can pick three weapons out of about eight and each weapon can be upgraded multiple times to provide more damage. Super Sanctum TD: It was included as a bonus for preorders of Sanctum 2. It is a simple good old TD in the universum of Sanctum. You can assign your towers to different priorities like shoot the weakest, first, last, strongest, etc. Each map can give you up to four points to invest in the techtree. One of the points have to be gotten by beating a maps survival mode. Sanctum 2: Coffee Stain Studios picked up where they left off: Refining the TD-FPS genre. They took a look at the weaknesses of Sanctum 1 and improved them. The initial release wasn't well receive for certain design decisions, but the developers took the criticism very seriously and correct those decisions in patches. There are now five classes to pick from with each having a certain role in a team. They also introduced a little leveling system to give you the feel of progression that Sanctum 1 lacked. The story mode also adds to giving you the feel of progression. The campaign is split up in four acts of about 4 levels each. In some levels there are now marines standing at your core and shooting if alieans come near. All in all I think that Sanctum 2 is a sequel how it should be done: Improved on the weaknesses of the prequel.
