I bought Supreme Commander a while back, and have had endless hours of fun on it! It takes games like Command and Conquer and puts it on a much larger scale. It also inherits many characteristics from it ancestor - Total Annihilation - and expands on it. All in all - A very good game. This game does require practice, though, so I highly advice practicing against bots to start off with. This game, in my opinion, has set a new par for strategy games (there is nothing like having hundreds of units have an all-out melee). The pricing is also good, given how its rivals are much more expensive. My vote: 9.5/10 TL;DR - A very good game that will give you hours of fun. A very good price.
This is one of the best RTS i ever played i totally recommend it if your a RTS fan this game can drive you to hundreds of hour's of gameplay due to the fun it creates and the epic massive battles i'm totally satisfied with this game and if your a big fan you can also try Supreme Commander 2 or Supreme Commander Forged Alliance which will add additional fun to the gameplay experience and if you would use Mod's then you will double the fun, have fun playing this game!
What suprised me when I first played SC were expanding maps when you completed parts of the mission and then appeared new areas and you got additional objectives. Also you had to balance very good between resources, energy, base defense and offensive actions. And the excellent graphics as for 2007. Try it if you like strategy games, sci-fi and missed the title.
Total Annihilation was an excellent game when it was released and it was always going to be hard to surpass that feeling a few years later. Supreme Commander doesn't have that impact but it is a good RTS. If you like massive battles where you can zoom out for a large scale overview and in to see the nitty gritty of battles then you'll love this. The AI is fairly good with no major pathfinding issues and the graphics are still functional today. However, the code wasn't brilliantly optimised for this game which did make it a bit of a CPU hog when it first came out, it shouldn't be a problem with a modern rig but worth bearing in mind if using an older PC. There is plenty of content with large campaigns but interest in the game can run out before the content as the storyline isn't particularly engaging.
Really huge Real-Time Strategy game. A little bit too huge for my likings. Grafix were excellent, storyline interesting enought. But as the areas are so massive you have to spend all your time buildin walls and cannons and stuff. If it only had somekind of auto bild. But you have to build many bases at the same time and building is quite slow so.. But for hardcore RTS fan this is a must, for me it was little too hc.
