Competitive Strategic Tower Defense

If you love to play WMW (Wintermaul Wars), a custom map for Warcraft 3 game, then this game is for you. In Tower Wars you're not only building towers to stop waves of monsters (although you can do this in Classic mode), but you will also need to send troops to destroy your enemy castle. There are also multiple upgrades you need to pay attention to: mines, towers, barrack, units and castle upgrades. Personally I bought this game in a bundle from GMG, really love it so I bought more bundles from GMG so I can gift this game to my friends. In my opinion this game worth every penny of the full price, so if you ever see this game on sale or a bundle, definitely buy it!

Strategic but a bit overestimated

Tower Wars is a fun, strategic game that will make you think of where you want to place your defenses. However, it's not a easy game. You'll have to think carefully of how you want to upgrade your defenses and spend your gold to build and send out units. But everything seems to snowball a bit too easily because of one mistake. Multiplayer and Bots are good for learning the game but sometimes it just matters on decisions and luck. You opponent might get the strongest unit out there while you have all upgraded towers but that's still not enough unfortunately that really unbalanced the game mechanics. The game doesn't get "competitive" but does give a challenge to hardcore TD fans. I would recommend to give it a try if you just want to play around.

fun with friends hard alone

The game focuses on you having to do both - building towers to defend and sending out minions to attack. Resources are always running out, so you'll have to decide on which one will you focus more. The A.I for single player is really deceptive. I chose the easiest level (the plank I believe) and it still brutally beaten me. It wasn't my first time playing either, was practicing against my friends for quite a while before. If you really want a challenge - play against the A.I. The challenge really makes it fun. The multiplayer is something to waste quite a few hours away on. The loading screens take a silly amount of time, because one of the friends will load in and the other one will only be allowed to start loading when the first one loaded in, but besides those few downfalls this game is something you should consider playing against your friends. Consensus - you can buy it for the multiplayer if you want to have a fun time, or you can buy it for the single player if you want a really huge challenge.

Tower Wars - review

The focus of Tower Wars is the multiplayer online, although you can engage in a comprehensive tutorial or the classic challenges to survival time, where it is necessary to resist the highest number of enemy waves to place their records in the online rankings. Missing altogether - unfortunately - a single player campaign, which would undoubtedly have helped the appeal and longevity of the game. The title is a classic representative of the genre, but the developers have introduced an approach to component offensive very solid and original. The playing area is set traditionally, with two headquarters antipodal places respectively, to protect and enhance the defense and of course to attack on offense. The articulated maps available, with an original style steampunk wink wink to the Middle Ages, are separated by hexagonal tiles which are placed the various defensive structures. As in any other tower defense respecting the secret lies in the obligatory path we're going to "build" for the enemy waves: the more it will be a long, tortuous and dangerous, the greater the chance of successfully defending their base, eliminating opponents before they can reach it. While you are committed to defend your castle you must also think about the attack, and it is in this context that Tower Wars shows more personality. Tower Wars level design offers a nice, refined polygonal models and also a good achievement for the troops. Average particle effects and special textures rather good, considering the number of well-animated elements that fill the screen.

Fun but problematic

So this is a tower defence game with multiplayer. 1vs1, 2vs2 and 3vs3. The most fun is when you play 1vs1 or else you get matched with some random against arranged team that will have a better teamwork. Don't play 2vs2 or 3vs3 unless you have some friends to play with you. It's really fun once you learn how everything works but early game is a little unbalanced and very hard for beginners. Ranking system makes this game fun to play over and over again, it's never easy. If you used to play wc3 tower defences like me with friends on LAN, this should be fun for you too.
